Los Montes
Los Montes is a Spanish region located in the northern part of the province of Granada, community of Andalusia, Spain. This territory limits with the Granada's counties of Baza in the northwest, Guadix in the east and south, Vega de Granada in the south, and Loja in the west, as well as with the Jaen counties of Sierra Sur de Jaén in the northwest, Sierra Mágina in the north, and Sierra de Cazorla in the northeast. In the eastern part of the region, the zone or sub-county of Montes Orientales is located. The sub-county of Montes Orientales is located in the northeast part, occupying around of 1,400 km², which extends from Fardes and Guadiana Menor rivers to Frailes river. In Spain, a ''comarca'' (, sing. ''comarca'') is either a traditional territorial division without any formal basis, or a group of municipalities, legally defined by an autonomous community for the purpose of providing common local government services. Iznalloz
Iznalloz is a small town about 35 km north of Granada, Spain. The town is the main center of a region known as Los Montes Orientales, which comprises about 17 towns and villages spread over the north of the province of Granada. Guadahortuna
Guadahortuna is a municipality of the province of Granada, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain. History Guadahortuna has been populated since prehistoric times. During Moorish Al-Andalus the municipality got its name, which means "River of fortune". During this period of time, it served as a border zone where Christian troops would enter Moorish territory in order to harass its inhabitants. In 1486, after the Christian victory over the Moors, queen Isabella I of Castile repopulated the municipality with Christians. In 1492, Guadahortuna became part of the city of Granada until 1557, when the municipality bought its independence with money from all its inhabitants.
