Los Guerrilleros (1963 Film)
''Los Guerrilleros'' is a 1963 Spanish language, Spanish motion picture. The film was directed by Pedro Luis Ramírez, and stars Manolo Escobar, Rocío Jurado, Alfredo Mayo, and Gracita Morales. Plot After the sacking of Córdoba, the troops of Napoleon's army, under the command of Colonel Tenardier, went to Andújar to join General Dupont and give the final battle to the few Spanish patriots that General Castaños has been able to gather. In 1808, in some towns of Spain, guerrilla groups formed attacking the French. In Montoro (Córdoba) they manage to annihilate, in a heroic battle, fought in the town square itself, the troops of Colonel Tenardier. Don Manuel García Escobar MML (19 October 1931 – 24 October 2013), better known as Manolo Escobar, was a Spanish singer of Andalusian '' copla'' and other Spanish music. He was also an actor and performed in multiple musicals. His popular songs include "El porompompero" (1962), "Mi carro" (1969), "La minifalda", and " Y viva España". Biography Manuel García Escobar was born to Antonio García and María del Carmen Escobar on 19 October 1931, the fifth of ten children. Early in Escobar's life, his father left the family tradition of farming to devote himself to hospitality and culture. María del Rocío Mohedano Jurado (, 18 September 1944 – 1 June 2006), better known as Rocío Jurado, was a Spanish singer and actress. She was born in Chipiona (Cádiz) and nicknamed "La más grande" ("The Greatest"). In 2000 in New York City, she won the prize "La voz del Milenio" for best female voice of the 20th century. She was one of the most popular Spanish actresses of the 1960s and 1970s, in both leading and supporting roles. Alfredo Fernández Martínez (17 May 1911 in Barcelona – 19 May 1985 in Palma de Mallorca) better known as Alfredo Mayo was a Spanish actor. Biography After studying medicine, in 1929 Mayo made his debut in the theatre with the company of Ernesto Vilches. He fought for Francisco Franco in the Spanish Civil War in aviation.
