Los Gatos Salvajes
Los Gatos Salvajes, from Rosario, Santa Fe in Argentina, were a beat and garage rock band active in the early to mid-1960s, following which members Litto Nebbia and Ciro Fogliatta would go on to form the later, more successful group, Los Gatos. They were one of Argentina's first teenage rock & roll bands, and part of the popular worldwide beat movement inspired by the success of the Beatles and the British Invasion. They enjoyed only limited record sales, despite some degree of success in their television appearances, but are recognised as a pioneering group in Argentina. History The band was founded in 1962 by keyboardist Ciro Fogliatta. He was joined by Rubén Rojas on vocals, Juan Carlos "Chango" Pueblas on guitar, and Ricardo Bellini on drums. In 1963 Guillermo Romero would join on bass, and Jose "Tito" Adjaiye would replace Bellini. Beat Music
Beat music, British beat, or Merseybeat is a British popular music genre that developed, particularly in and around Liverpool, in the late 1950s and early 1960s. The genre melded influences from American rock and roll, rhythm and blues, skiffle, traditional pop and music hall. Los Gatos (band)
Los Gatos (Spanish for "The Cats") were an Argentine rock group of the late 1960s, founded in the wake of an earlier group, Los Gatos Salvajes, who shared two of the same members. They are considered part of the founding trinity of Spanish-language rock in Argentina, along with Almendra and Manal. The unexpected success of their 1967 debut single " La balsa" was the kickstarter of Argentine rock, and pioneered Spanish-language rock. Litto Nebbia
Félix Francisco "Litto" Nebbia Corbacho (born 21 July 1948) is an Argentine singer-songwriter, musician and producer prominent in the development of Argentine rock. Life and work Félix Francisco Nebbia Corbacho was born in Rosario, Santa Fe to Martha and Félix Nebbia (two sons of Italian immigrants), in 1948. His parents were struggling musicians, though during his early teens, ''Litto'' left secondary school to join a friend, keyboardist Ciro Fogliatta, in a band ("Wild Cats"). The duo moved to Buenos Aires in 1963, and lived hand-to-mouth in a Balvanera ward tenement. They appeared in a television show, ''Escala Musical'', a number of times, and became regulars at a popular neighborhood recital hall, ''La Cueva''. Nebbia and Fogliatta formed "Los Gatos" in 1966. The Yardbirds
The Yardbirds are an English rock band, formed in London in 1963. The band's core lineup featured vocalist and harmonica player Keith Relf, drummer Jim McCarty, rhythm guitarist and later bassist Chris Dreja and bassist/producer Paul Samwell-Smith.
