''Los Cocorocos'' was a collaborative album between salsa and reggaeton singers released in 2006 by indie CMG (Coalition Music Group) distributed by Universal/MOTOWN. The album fused sounds between salsa and reggaeton. This production has musical arrangements by Charlie Donato, Domingo Quiñones, Jose Lugo and Willie Sotello. “Los hombres tienen la culpa” by Gilberto Santa Rosa and Don Omar was the debut single of this release and an original by producer Charlie Donato. Salsa Music
Salsa music is a style of Latin American music. Because most of the basic musical components predate the labeling of salsa, there have been many controversies regarding its origin. Most songs considered as salsa are primarily based on son montuno, with elements of Mambo (music), mambo, Latin jazz, Bomba (Puerto Rico), bomba, plena and guaracha. All of these elements are adapted to fit the basic son montuno template when performed within the context of salsa. Originally the name salsa was used to label commercially several styles of Latin dance music, but nowadays it is considered a musical style on its own and one of the staples of Latin American culture. Humberto "Tito" Nieves (born June 4, 1959; also known "El Pavarotti de la Salsa") is a Puerto Rican musician who became one of the leading salsa singers of the 1980s and the early 1990s. Born in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, and raised in the United States, Nieves began his career while participating in Orquesta Cimarron, a New York-based group. In 1977, he teamed up with singer Héctor Lavoe and his Orchestra and joined the Conjunto Clasico. Later, Nieves started his solo career in 1986, setting himself apart by singing salsa in English. He is known for his hits such as "El Amor Más Bonito", "Sonámbulo", and the English-salsa hit, "I Like It Like That" (1996). Julio Voltio (born as Julio Irving Ramos Filomeno on June 11, 1977 in Santurce, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican former reggaeton artist. A pioneer of the reggaeton genre, Voltio retired from music in 2014 and dedicated himself to preaching Christianity. His nickname came to be as the result of an accident. Before joining Karel, he worked as an electrician. One day, he stuck his hand in the wrong place and got shocked.
