Manhattan Beach Boulevard
Manhattan Beach Boulevard is a major east–west thoroughfare in western Los Angeles County. It begins at a T-intersection with Van Ness Avenue in Gardena and terminates at the Manhattan Beach pier, feet from the Pacific Ocean. It passes under Interstate 405, but cars cannot enter or exit the freeway at that point (the closest onramp is a block north on Inglewood Boulevard). The boulevard is one of the five principal roadways in Manhattan Beach (the other four being Rosecrans Avenue, Sepulveda Boulevard, Artesia Boulevard, and Aviation Boulevard), and the intersection between it and Sepulveda is one of the busiest in the city. Redondo Beach station is an elevated light rail station on the C Line of the Los Angeles Metro Rail system. It is located over Marine Avenue in the city of Redondo Beach, California, after which the station is named. It is currently the western terminus of the C Line. The original name for the station was Marine Ave / Redondo Beach Ave, until 2005 when the station was renamed Redondo Beach. An extension beyond Redondo Beach into Torrance is in the planning stages. Douglas Station (Los Angeles Metro)
Douglas station is an elevated light rail station on the C Line of the Los Angeles Metro Rail system. It is located over Douglas Street, after which it is named, near Park Place and one block north of Rosecrans Avenue in El Segundo, California. It opened with the commencement of Green Line service on August 12, 1995. By 2024, Douglas station will be served by the K Line after it gets extended to Redondo Beach and the C Line gets rerouted to LAX Airport at the future LAX/Metro Transit Center station. The original name for the station was Douglas St/Rosecrans Ave, but was later simplified to Douglas. This station was renovated in 2006 as part of street improvements in the area. C Line (Los Angeles Metro)
The C Line (formerly the Green Line from 1995 to 2020) is a light rail line running between Redondo Beach and Norwalk within Los Angeles County. It is one of seven lines forming the Los Angeles Metro Rail system, and opened on August 12, 1995. Along the route, the line serves the cities of Downey, El Segundo, Hawthorne, Norwalk and Lynwood, the Los Angeles community of Westchester, and several unincorporated communities in the South Los Angeles region including Athens, Del Aire, and Willowbrook. A free shuttle bus to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is available at the line's Aviation/LAX station. Rosecrans Station
Rosecrans station is a busway station located in Los Angeles, California. It is situated between the Harbor Freeway station and the Harbor Gateway Transit Center on the J Line, a bus rapid transit route which runs between El Monte, Downtown Los Angeles and San Pedro as part of the Metro Busway system. The station consists of two side platforms in the center of Interstate 110 under Rosecrans Avenue. The station serves the Harbor Gateway neighborhoods of Los Angeles. Rosecrans station was built between 1989 and 1996 as part of the Harbor Transitway project and opened to passengers on August 1, 1996. J Line buses serve the station twenty-four hours a day; the headway between buses is about four minutes during peak periods, with less frequent service at other times. The J Line (formerly the Silver Line, sometimes listed as Line 910/950) is a bus rapid transit route that runs between El Monte, Downtown Los Angeles and Gardena, with some trips continuing to San Pedro. It is one of the two lines in the Metro Busway system operated by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro). The J Line offers frequent, all-stops service along the El Monte Busway and the Harbor Transitway, two grade-separated transit facilities built into the Southern California freeway system. Rosecrans Avenue
Rosecrans Avenue is a major west-east thoroughfare in Los Angeles and Orange Counties, California, USA. It has a total length of 27.5 miles (44.3 km). The street is named after U.S. Union General William S. Rosecrans, who purchased of Rancho Sausal Redondo southwest of Los Angeles in 1869. Boring Test Tunnel
The Boring Test Tunnel is a tunnel in Hawthorne, California for testing hyperloop and loop-based transportation. It was completed by The Boring Company in late 2018. The single-bore tunnel was constructed during 2017 and 2018 using a diameter tunnel boring machine, giving a finished internal diameter. Route Most of the route runs outside and set back from the perimeter of Hawthorne Municipal Airport, with a very short section under the corner of the airport fence, without going under the runway. The tunnel starts between the Dominguez Channel storm drain and Crenshaw Boulevard at an entrance pit constructed on parking lot land owned by SpaceX.
