Loriciels
Loriciel (also sometimes Loriciels) was a French video game developing company that was active from 1983 to the early 1990s. The name is a combination of ''logiciel'', the French word for software, and ''Oric'' which was the first computer they wrote software for. During the 1980s, they developed games for various systems (Oric 1, ZX81, ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, Thomson computers and the Atari ST). The first game that Loriciel developed was ''Hubert'' for the Commodore 64. They managed to publish 150 different games within their short lifespan as a company. While several attempts were made to revive the company (first as Loriciel then Virtual Studio), financial difficulties would force this company to shut down after developing '' Tommy Moe's Winter Extreme: Skiing & Snowboarding'' for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Quadrel
''Quadrel'' is a puzzle video game developed by Loriciels and released in June 1991. It was released for MS-DOS, Amiga, Atari ST, and Amstrad CPC The Amstrad CPC (short for ''Colour Personal Computer'') is a series of 8-bit home computers produced by Amstrad between 1984 and 1990. Gameplay The game consists of a series of screens composed of patterns created by criss-crossing lines. the object of the game is to color the image entirely by using the four or less colours available in each screen. Bumpy's Arcade Fantasy
''Bumpy'' is a 1989 platform game created by Loriciels. It was published for ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, MSX, Atari ST, and MS-DOS. Gameplay The player controls a ball, collecting items to open the exit. While most platforms are perfectly harmless, some have additional qualities, such as being destructible, thereby granting access to other parts of the screen. Some platforms are on fire, which will turn out lethal unless the player has picked up a water droplet in advance. Legacy A remake of the game was created in 1992 with the name ''Bumpy's Arcade Fantasy''. Loriciels wanted a 16-bit game so they handed it over to Infogrames who made ''Pop-up'' in 1991. The loading screen and graphics changed but the music sound effects and gameplay remained the same. L'Aigle D'Or
''L'Aigle d'Or'' is a 1984 French action video game by Loriciels. Development The game had an initial investment of approximately 100,000 French franc, FF and took three months of work. Release Games & Strategy suggested that in the Loriciels catalog, the game was "only (and wrongly)" cited as a role-playing game. Microphone anticipated the game's release on MO5 to be successful due to the recent success of its Oric release. The game peaked at 30,000 copies sold. Critical reception Tilt wrote the game is: "the precursor of a new range of adventure software, which will be more and more realistic, more and more “real”. An undeniable success." Micro 7 gave it a rating of 5 out of 5 stars. Skweek
''Super Skweek'' is a puzzle game developed and published by the French company Loriciel. The game was released on multiple platforms in the early 1990s as a follow-up to 1989's ''Skweek'' (released as ''Slider'' in 1991 in the United States). Gameplay The player plays the Super Skweek, an orange-furred creature of unknown origin. Under the command of the King, the player has to move over blue tiles in order to repaint them pink, fighting off the monster invasion in doing so. There are five islands, each consisting of 50 levels. Some levels contain various monsters roaming around, and certain special tiles such as slippery tiles, explosive tiles, floating tiles and tiles which move the player in a certain direction. There are also coins to collect in order to buy prizes at the shop such as bombs or other improved powers. The Brainies
''The Brainies'' is a puzzle game released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System console and Atari ST, Amiga, Apple IIgs, Macintosh, and Amstrad CPC computers. Even though its European title is ''Tiny Skweeks'', the connection to the popular ''Skweek'' series was made late. Gameplay The gameplay revolves around Mexican jumping beans (referred to in game as ''Brainies'') as they navigate 101 levels to solve the puzzles that are in their way. A time limit is in effect; running out of time means losing a life. Players can only control the direction in which a Brainy will walk; taking care not to bump into another Brainy or an obstacle. Amiga
Amiga is a family of personal computers introduced by Commodore in 1985.
