Lorestan University (LU) is a public university of science and engineering in Iran, offering undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Located in Lorestan province of Iran, the university is among the top public universities and research institutes in Iran, illustrating its high status in research and education. Khorramabad
Khorramabad ( fa, خرمآباد, Khorramâbâd ), alternatively romanized as Khorramābād, Khoramabad, Khurramabad, Khorram Abad, or Khur Ramābād, is a city and the capital of Lorestan Province, Iran. At the time of the 2016 census, its population was 373,416 persons. Khorramabad is situated on the Zagros Mountains. Khorramabad Airport is 3 km south of the city proper. Khorramabad is the largest Luri-speaking city in Iran. The city population is predominantly Lur and Kurds. Education In Iran
Education in Iran is centralized and divided into K-12 education plus higher education. Elementary and secondary education is supervised by the Ministry of Education and higher education is under supervision of Ministry of Science, research and Technology and Ministry of Health and Medical Education (medical fields). As of 2016, 86% of the Iranian adult population are literate. This rate increases to 97% among young adults (aged between 15 and 24) without any gender discrepancy. By 2007, Iran had a student to workforce population ratio of 10.2%, standing among the countries with highest ratio in the world. Mohsen Adeli
Mohsen Adeli (born 20 March 1972) is an Iranian chemist and Distinguished Professor of Chemistry at Lorestan University and guest professor at the Free University of Berlin. He is known for his research works in the field of macromolecular chemistry, nanomaterials and materials chemistry. Career After high school in Khorramabad, where he graduated in 1992, he studied Pure Chemistry at Lorestan University 1993-1997. He received his MSc in Organic Chemistry in 2001 under supervision of Aliakbar Entezami, and subsequently his PhD in the same field under supervision of Hasan Namazi in 2005 at Tabriz University. Adeli graduated with his thesis entitled ''Synthesis of citric acid dendrimers and their application as drug delivery agents''. He received a research fellowship in the Department of Chemistry at Dortmund University under Rainer Haag in 2005.
