Lorenzo I. De Leon Guerrero
Lorenzo Iglecias "Larry" De Leon Guerrero (January 25, 1935 – October 6, 2006) was a Northern Mariana Islander politician who served as the third governor of the Northern Mariana Islands from 1990 to 1994 and the first president of the Northern Mariana Islands Senate from 1978 to 1980. He was a member of the CNMI Republican Party. Early life Guerrero was born on January 25, 1935, to his parents Pedro Taitingfong Deleon Guerrero and Carmen Celis Iglecias of Saipan. Career Guerrero first held elective office in 1972 when he took office as a senator in the Northern Mariana Islands' legislature at the time. He served in that body until it was replaced by the Commonwealth Legislature in 1980, at which time he served as the President of the Northern Mariana Islands Senate until 1982. He chaired the Northern Mariana Islands Republican Party from 1983 to 1985. He was elected governor in 1989 and served from 1990 to 1994, when he was succeeded by Froilan Tenorio. Rita Inos
Rita Hocog Inos (May 12, 1954 - August 10, 2009) was a Northern Mariana Island educator, activist and politician. Inos was the former Education Commissioner of the Northern Marianas school system and served on the Northern Marianas College Board of Regents. Inos was a two-time candidate for Lieutenant Governor of the Northern Mariana Islands, becoming the first woman to seek election to that particular office. Early life Inos was born Rita Hocog on May 12, 1954, in Songsong, Rota, the Northern Mariana Islands. She was raised in Songsong as well. Education Inos graduated from Arlington High School in Arlington, Texas. She obtained her bachelor's degree in liberal arts from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 1979. Inos then received a master's degree in educational anthropology from California State University. Pedro "Teno" Pangelinan Tenorio (April 18, 1934 – May 21, 2018) was a Northern Mariana Islander politician who served as the second and fifth governor of the Northern Mariana Islands from January 11, 1982 to January 8, 1990 and then from January 12, 1998 to January 14, 2002. With 12 years in office, Tenorio was the longest-serving governor in CNMI history. Biography Tenorio was born on Saipan.
