Lore Uphoff-Schill (born August 18, 1890 - Düsseldorf as ''Leonore Henriette Schill'', January 28, 1968 - Worpswede) was a German painter of the Düsseldorfer Malerschule, Düsseldorfer Schule and the Worpswede painters' colony. Life Lore Schill was born in 1890 as the fourth child of the Düsseldorf art professor Adolf Schill and his wife Emmy Simons (* 1858). His birthplace was Blumenstraße (Düsseldorf), Blumenstraße in Düsseldorf. On her mother's side, she came from the Simons-Köhler family from Elberfeld (see Friedrich Wilhelm Simons-Köhler; Walter Simons; Ludwig Simons). The architect Walter Kyllmann (Kyllmann and Heyden) was an uncle of Lore. Her great-grandfather was the district administrator of Solingen and art patron Gottlieb Kyllmann, Carl Gottlieb Kyllman. In addition to her father, Lore Uphoff-Schill received instruction in painting from Lothar von Kunowski at the Kunstgewerbeschule Düsseldorf.
