Lord Alex Oakwell
Alex, Lord Oakwell is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera, ''Emmerdale'', played by Rupam Maxwell. The actor auditioned for the part of Alex and was told he had won the role on the same day. His casting was announced in June 1997. Maxwell said he was thrilled to get the part, and he hoped his character would have some juicy storylines lined up. Maxwell made his first screen appearance as Alex during the episode broadcast on 9 July 1997. Alex was a young aristocrat, who inherited Oakwell Hall. A writer for the ''Daily Mirror'' branded Alex a womaniser and said he was arrogant and self-centred. Maxwell stated his character would not be the most popular person in ''Emmerdale''. Johnny Leeze
John Harold Glen (31 December 1941 – 25 October 2020), known professionally as Johnny Leeze, was a British actor of television and film. He was perhaps best known for playing Harry Clayton in the British soap opera ''Coronation Street'' for a few months in 1985, and as Ned Glover in fellow British soap opera ''Emmerdale'' from 1994 to 1999. He appeared again in 2000, before leaving shortly afterwards. Career Leeze's list of screen appearances dates back to 1982, when he made his television debut in the sitcom ''Open All Hours'' as a bit part. Jilly Cooper, CBE (born 21 February 1937), is an English author. She began her career as a journalist and wrote numerous works of non-fiction before writing several romance novels, the first of which appeared in 1975. She is most famous for writing the Rutshire Chronicles. Early life Jilly Sallitt was born in Hornchurch, Essex, England, to Mary Elaine (née Whincup) and Brigadier W. B. Sallitt, OBE. She grew up in Ilkley and Surrey, and was educated at the Moorfield School in Ilkley and the Godolphin School in Salisbury. Roy Glover is a fictional character from the British television soap opera ''Emmerdale'', played by Nicky Evans. He made his first appearance during the episode broadcast on 4 August 1994, and departed six years later on 22 August 2000.
