Loraine Barry
Loraine Barry (born 10 December 1964) is a former professional dancer and also known for her role as a judge on the RTÉ One series, ''Dancing with the Stars.'' Early life Loraine Barry was born in Cabra in Dublin, Ireland. By the age of nineteen, Barry began to dance competitively with her partner Andrew Sinkinson. Together Barry and Sinkinson won many Amateur titles such as British Youth Amateur Ballroom Championship. They also won the Amateur British Ballroom Championship three consecutive times in 1987, 1988, & 1989. Barry & Sinkinson traveled around the world competing regularly and winning Grand Slam titles such as: the UK Championship, European Open Championship and World Championship. Cabra () is an inner suburb on the northside of Dublin city in Ireland. It is approximately northwest of the city centre, in the administrative area of Dublin City Council. It was commonly known as Cabragh until the early 20th century. Luca and Loraine Baricchi are professional ballroom dancers and dance teachers from the Republic of Ireland & Italy. As professional ballroom dancers, they competed for England. They twice won the Professional World Ballroom Dance Championship (1999, 2001). The couple also won the International Professional Standard Championship in London in 1999–2000, and are former British Open, UK and European champions. World Ballroom Dance Champions
This page lists the official World Champions – Professional Ballroom of the World Dance Council (WDC), and its historical predecessors. The championships are authorized and organized under the auspices of the WDC. The designation ''Ballroom'' replaces the previously used ''Modern'' or ''Standard'' in WDC terminology; it does not include the latin dances. World Championships of a sort have been held in ballroom dancing since 1909 when Camille de Rhynal held annual championships in Paris. Records of the years prior to the First World War are sketchy, and it is only since 1922 when the sport split into professional and amateur levels that complete records have been kept. The 1922 championships were also the first to award a single 'world championship' as opposed to titles in the individual dances. Brian Redmond (born 6 March 1977) is best known for his starring role in the judging hotseat on RTÉ One series, Dancing with the Stars. An integral part of the show's team from the very first episode, Brian was hired to be the "Simon Cowell" character of the show.'' Early life Julian Benson was born in Adelaide, Australia where he did his formative dance training. He and his family moved to Ireland when Julian was twelve years old.
