Looper (band)
Looper are a Scottish electronic music group fronted by Belle and Sebastian co-founder Stuart David. They have been credited with originating two distinct musical genres- ''Folk Hop'', and ''Horror Pop''Bowers, William (2002)''The Snare'', Pitchfork, 13 August 2002. Retrieved 25 February 2018 (later termed ''Noir'n'B'' or ''Switchblade Pop'') The band formed in 1998 for a show at the Glasgow School of Art and released their first single "Impossible Things" on the Subpop label a few months later. ''Pitchfork'' (formerly ''Pitchfork Media'') is an American online music publication (currently owned by Condé Nast) that was launched in 1995 by writer Ryan Schreiber as an independent music blog. Schreiber started Pitchfork while working at a record store in suburban Minneapolis, and the website earned a reputation for its extensive coverage of indie rock music. It has since expanded and covers all kinds of music, including pop. Pitchfork was sold to Condé Nast in 2015, although Schreiber remained its editor-in-chief until he left the website in 2019. Initially based in Minneapolis, Pitchfork later moved to Chicago, and then Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Its offices are currently located in One World Trade Center alongside other Condé Nast publications. Sub Pop is a record label founded in 1986 by Bruce Pavitt and Jonathan Poneman. Sub Pop achieved fame in the early 1990s for signing Seattle bands such as Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Mudhoney, central players in the grunge movement. They are often credited with helping popularize grunge music. The label's roster includes Fleet Foxes, Beach House, The Postal Service, Sleater-Kinney, Flight of the Conchords, Foals, Blitzen Trapper, Father John Misty, clipping., Shabazz Palaces, Bully, Low, METZ, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, TV Priest and The Shins. One video splices screencaps of various beautiful, young women in seductive, orgasmic poses with snippets of Adam playing the piano and Justin singing. ''Out Cold'' is a 2001 American comedy film directed by the music video sibling directing team The Malloys (Brendan and Emmett Malloy). Starring Jason London, Willie Garson and Lee Majors, the film is about a group of snowboarders in Alaska. It presents itself as a parody of 1990s "ski school" films and makes a number of references to the film ''Casablanca''. A number of elements of the latter, including plot and famous lines, were incorporated into the film. The film is the Malloys' feature film directorial debut. ''Mission Hill'' is an American adult animated television sitcom that ran on The WB from September 24, 1999, to July 16, 2000, and on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim from May 26 to August 11, 2002. While initially garnering poor ratings, it has since gained a cult following, and is also popular outside of the United States and Canada, receiving broadcasts in Australia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, Spain and New Zealand. Stylistically, the series is recognizable for its bright, neon color palette, and features a peculiar mixture of modern animation and traditional "cartoonish" drawings (dashed lines coming from eyes to indicate line of vision, red bolts of lightning around a spot in pain).
