Longo Caminho
''Longo Caminho'' (Portuguese for ''A Long Way'') is the tenth studio album by Brazilian rock band Os Paralamas do Sucesso. It was released in 2002, one year after vocalist Herbert Vianna's accident with the ultralight plane that made him paraplegic. Most of the tracks were written before the accident. Main hits of the album included "O Calibre", an aggressive song that is a critic to the urban violence, and the ballads "Cuide Bem do Seu Amor" and "Seguindo Estrelas". "O Calibre" would be featured on the soundtrack of the film '' Elite Squad: The Enemy Within'' eight years later its release. "Soldado da Paz" was recorded by Cidade Negra in their ''MTV Unplugged'' album, while the title track was recorded by Zélia Duncan. Argentine musician Fito Páez, a recurring collaborator for the Paralamas, provided the organ for the song "Flores e Espinhos". Os Paralamas Do Sucesso
Os Paralamas do Sucesso (also known simply as Paralamas) is a Brazilian rock band, formed in Seropédica, Rio de Janeiro, in the late 1970s. Its members since 1982 are Herbert Vianna (guitar and lead vocals), Bi Ribeiro (bass), and João Barone (drums). In its beginning, the band combined reggae and ska with rock, but later added horn arrangements and Latin rhythms. History Beginnings Although considered part of the "Brasília gang", because they lived there and were friends with local bands, Paralamas' proper birthplace was Seropédica. Herbert Vianna and Felipe "Bi" Ribeiro were childhood friends and neighbors in that city. Herbert's father was in the military, while Bi's was a diplomat. Paul Weller
Paul John Weller (born John William Weller; 25 May 1958) is an English singer-songwriter and musician. Weller achieved fame with the punk rock/ new wave/mod revival band the Jam (1972–1982). He had further success with the blue-eyed soul music of the Style Council (1983–1989), before establishing himself as a solo artist with his eponymous 1992 album. RPM ("Revoluções por Minuto", "Revolutions per minute", in Brazilian Portuguese) is a Brazilian pop rock band. It was formed in 1983 by singer/bassist Paulo Ricardo, keyboardist Luiz Schiavon, guitarist Fernando Deluqui and drummer Paulo Antônio "P.A." Pagni. History RPM played soft techno-pop with strong, paradoxical influences from progressive rock and European synthpop. Paulo Ricardo Oliveira Nery de Medeiros (born 23 September 1962), better known as Paulo Ricardo, is a Brazilian rock singer, songwriter, composer, musician, record producer and occasional actor. Early life In his childhood he listened to Nat King Cole and the collections of the famous Big Bands from Toquinho, Vinícius de Morais and Maria Creuza. He joined the band Prisma in the late 1970s and also founded the band Aura in the early 1980s. He rode with a keyboard player Luiz Schiavon, formed Aura, without expressive results. O Rappa was a Brazilian reggae/rock band from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
