Longbeach Trail
The Longbeach Trail is a shared-use bicycle and pedestrian path running from Patterson River, Carrum, along the southwestern side of the Edithvale-Seaford Wetlands, to the Mordialloc Creek, Mordialloc. In Mordialloc, it connects to the Mordialloc Creek Trail and the Bay Trail and in the Carrum it connects to the Bay Trail and Dandenong Creek Trail. The trail is 8km long and is mostly flat. It consists of some concrete sections but is mostly gravel. It passes through the suburbs of Aspendale, Aspendale Gardens, Bonbeach, Carrum, Chelsea, Edithvale and Mordialloc. Patterson River
The Patterson River is a partly man-made urban river of the Port Phillip catchment in the Australian east coast state of Victoria, located in the outer southeastern suburbs of the Greater Melbourne region. Under the name "Patterson", it is the shortest river in Victoria at only in length, although its main stem tributary and ''de facto'' upper section, the Dandenong Creek, is over long. Location and features The man-made river was constructed in 1878 as the Patterson Cut to assist the drainage of coastal swamplands located in what is now the suburb of Carrum. The swamp opening was mostly only open during the Winter months, so heavy Spring and Summer rains often caused flooding to properties on the edge of the swamp area. Edithvale-Seaford Wetlands
The Edithvale-Seaford Wetlands is a collection of principally freshwater swamps and marshlands totalling in southeastern Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, about southeast of Melbourne CBD. It is the largest natural wetland of its type in the Port Phillip and Western Port basins, and is all that remains of the historic Carrum Carrum Swamp, which once covered more than from present-day Mordialloc in the north to Frankston in the south. The surviving wetlands are divided into two groups, namely the northern Edithvale Wetlands ( in total) and the southern Seaford Wetlands ( in total), which together form the Edithvale-Seaford Wetlands Ramsar Site. Mordialloc Creek
The Dandenong Creek ( Aboriginal Bunwurrung: ''Narra Narrawong'' or ''Dandinnong'') is an urban creek of the Port Phillip catchment, located in the eastern and south-eastern Greater Melbourne region of the Australian east coast state of Victoria. The creek descends approximately over its course of before joining the Eumemmerring Creek to form the Patterson River (of which it can be considered the ''de facto'' main stem) and eventually draining into the Beaumaris Bay. The first European to see the creek near its source was in 1839 and is believed to be Daniel Bunce, a botanist. Bay Trail (Australia)
The Bay Trail is a shared use path for cyclists and pedestrians which follows the coastline of Port Phillip Bay through the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The trail begins at Austin Road, Seaford near the Edithvale-Seaford Wetlands viewing platform and travels north. The trail ends just north of the West Gate Bridge in Port Melbourne, Victoria, Port Melbourne. On weekends, a Cable ferry, punt ferries pedestrians and bicycles across the Yarra River to Spotswood, Victoria, Spotswood in the city's west. North of Brighton, Victoria, Brighton the path is mostly split in two; providing separate facilities for pedestrians and cyclists. These areas are also popular with inline skating, inline skaters.
