Long Puak

	Long Puak Long Puak, formerly known as Long Ballong, is a small-village found about 2 km from Long Banga in the Marudi division of Sarawak, Malaysia. It lies approximately east-north-east of the state capital Kuching. Description It is believed that the population is less than 50 people, with majority of the inhabitants being Sabans, along with Kelabit and Kenyah people. The village's main activities are agriculture-based activities like planting paddy, fruits, raising chickens, pigs, buffalo and cows, and fishing. The village is very quiet; most of the younger generation have gone to urban areas like Miri and Marudi in search of better living and employment opportunities. Some have also gone to nearby logging camps to work as woodmen, mechanics and other timber-related jobs. picture info	Bario Bario is a community of 13 to 16 villages located on the Kelabit Highlands in Miri Division, Sarawak, Malaysia, lying at an altitude of 1000 m (3280 ft) above sea level. 	Long Laput Long Laput (also known as Laput) is a settlement in the rural interior of the Marudi district of Sarawak, Malaysia. It lies approximately east-north-east of the state capital Kuching. Description Long Laput is one of the biggest villages along the Baram River and the majority of the inhabitants belong to the Kayan tribe. The estimated population is 2000 people, most of whom live in longhouses. In the late 1950s the main longhouse was reputed to be the longest in Borneo, being 700 metres in length. The main source of income is agriculture, including rice, pepper, rubber and increasingly palm oil; one oil palm estate extends to 2500 acres. Livestock include freshwater fish farming and cattle which graze the oil palm plantation. 	Long Lama Long Lama is a town in Marudi District, Sarawak state in Malaysia. The town is located at 143 km from Miri with a population of 1,500. Etymology The name of the town is taken from a nearly river named "Lama" that joins into the Baram river. The word "Long" is a Kayan word that means "old", so "Long Lama" means "old river". History The Chinese first set foot in this town between 1905 and 1910 and built several shophouses for trading. Long Lama was connected to water supply in 1976 and electrical supply in 1986. Cable telephone was only connected in 1990. Ferry services transporting cars across the Baram River started in 2002. Geography The town is located at 160 km away from Mulu National Park.
