Long Peluan
Long Peluan is a settlement in the Marudi division of Sarawak, Malaysia. It lies approximately east-north-east of the state capital Kuching. The village is located in the Ulu Baram area in the interior of Sarawak. The nearby village of Long Banga is about four hour’ walk away, and has an airport and a clinic that serves the surrounding villages including Long Peluan. A logging road now links Long Peluan with Long Banga, Merawa Camp, and other villages downstream. The village is on the outer limits of Kelabit territory and the people are predominantly Kelabits, though some members of the related Sa'ban tribe also live in Long Peluan. Long Lellang
Long Lellang (also known as Long Lelang) is a small village in the Kelabit people, Kelabit highlands of Sarawak, Malaysia. It lies approximately east-north-east of the state capital Kuching. The village is predominantly populated by the Kelabit people, Kelabit tribe, though a number of Penan people also live there. All the surrounding villages near Long Lellang are Penan villages. The village has shops and a church, and over 100 students are enrolled at the village school, SRK Long Lellang. The population of Long Lellang is about 100 families. Long Lellang Airport is a STOL airfield, providing access to this remote village. Lio Matoh
Lio Matoh (also known as Lio Matu) is a remote Kenyah Badeng longhouse settlement in the mountainous interior of the Marudi division of Sarawak, Malaysia, not far from the border with Indonesia. It lies approximately east-north-east of the state capital Kuching. Travel to Lio Matoh involves a four-hour 4WD drive from Long San, or it is possible to trek between Lio Matoh and Bario, but it takes seven to nine days. The Baram River begins as a stream near Bario, and it flows through Lio Matoh, the highest that small boats can navigate. It is possible to travel downriver from Lio Matoh by longboat: it takes two days to get to Long San by this method. The Sa'ban, Sa'baan or Saban people, are an indigenous Dayak people of Sarawak, Malaysia and East Kalimantan, Indonesia. They are categorised under the Orang Ulu groups in Malaysia and have a close ties with the Kelabit people. Kelabit People
The Kelabit are an indigenous Dayak people of the Sarawak/ North Kalimantan highlands of Borneo with a minority in the neighbouring state of Brunei. They have close ties to the Lun Bawang. The elevation there is slightly over 1,200 meters. In the past, because there were few roads (only poorly maintained logging roads, which tended not to be too close to the Bario Highlands) and because the area was largely inaccessible by river because of rapids, the highlands and the Kelabit were relatively untouched by modern western influences. Now, however, there is a relatively permanent road route on which it is possible to reach Bario by car from Miri. The road is marked but driving without a local guide is not advisable, as it takes over 11 hours of driving to reach Bario from Miri through many logging trail junctions and river crossings.
