''Long Live the Republic!'' ( cs, Ať žije republika) is a 1965 Czechoslovak film directed by Karel Kachyňa and written by Jan Procházka. Set in a Moravian village in 1945, it follows a story of a 12-year-old boy named Piňda. Karel Kachyňa
Karel Kachyňa (1 May 1924 – 12 March 2004) was a Czech film director and screenwriter. His career spanned over five decades. Early life He was born on May 1, 1920, in Vyškov, Czechoslovakia. His father was a government officer. His mother was an art teacher. After spending first 4 years of his life in Vyškov, he moved with his family to Dačice and then Kroměříž. Kachyňa studied at Baťa School of Art in Zlín. During the WWII he was forced to work in a German factory Walter Georgi in Bernsbach. After the war he was able to finish high school and work on commercials at the Baťa film studios in Zlín. Kachyňa was then accepted at newly founded Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU) to study cinematography and directing. Eduard Model Accessories is a Czech manufacturer of plastic models and finescale model accessories. Formed in 1989 in the city of Most, Eduard began in a rented cellar as a manufacturer of photoetched brass model components. Following the success of their early products, the company branched off into plastic models in 1993. Iva Janžurová
Iva Janžurová (born 19 May 1941) is a Czech actress. She attended school in České Budějovice and in 1963, she graduated from the Faculty of Theatre at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. In 1964, she became the main member of Vinohrady Theatre and since 1988 has been a member of the National Theatre in Prague. She has appeared in many films, such as ''Což takhle dát si špenát'', ''Marecek, Pass Me the Pen!'', and the television series ''Hospital at the End of the City''. In 1998 and 2002, she was awarded the Czech Lion for Best Actress. Biography Janžurová was born into a family of teachers. Yuriy Vladimirovich Nazarov (russian: Ю́рий Влади́мирович Наза́ров; born 5 May 1937) is a Soviet and Russian actor. People's Artist of Russia (2005). Biography He was born Yuriy Vladimirovich Nazarov in Novosibirsk, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. His father, Nikolai Aldomirovich Nazarov (1906–1971), was an ethnic Chechen Lieutenant of the Red Army, who served in the Eastern Front and the Crimean offensive in 1944.
