Long Harbour, British Columbia
Long Harbour is an inlet on the east side of Salt Spring Island. It hosts a ferry terminal which connects directly to the Lower Mainland via Tsawwassen, British Columbia, Tsawwassen, British Columbia as well as some of the other southern Gulf Islands. It is also the home of Maracaibo Estates. There are several small islets in its waters, including Clamshell Islet, which is covered with numerous opuntia, prickly pear cacti. There is also a Royal Vancouver Yacht Club and a Royal Victoria Yacht Club outstation facility. Salt Spring Island
Salt Spring Island or Saltspring Island is one of the Gulf Islands in the Strait of Georgia between mainland British Columbia, Canada, and Vancouver Island. The island was initially inhabited by various Salishan peoples before being settled by immigrant pioneers in 1859, at which time it was renamed Admiral Island. The Lower Mainland is a geographic and cultural region of the mainland coast of British Columbia that generally comprises the regional districts of Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley. Tsawwassen, British Columbia
Tsawwassen ( ) is a suburban, mostly residential community on a peninsula in the southwestern corner of the City of Delta in British Columbia, Canada. It provides the only road access to the American territory on the southern tip of the peninsula, the community of Point Roberts, Washington, via 56th Street. It is also the location of Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal, part of the BC Ferries, built in 1959 to provide foot-passenger and motor vehicle access from the Lower Mainland to the southern part of Vancouver Island and the southern Gulf Islands. Because Tsawwassen touches a shallow bank (Roberts Bank), the ferry terminal is built at the southwestern end of a causeway (part of Highway 17) that juts into the Strait of Georgia. Royal Vancouver Yacht Club
The Royal Vancouver Yacht Club (RVYC) is a yacht club located in Vancouver, British Columbia. Royal Vancouver Yacht Club currently operates two marinas, the one at Jericho Beach in English Bay and another in Coal Harbour. The Jericho site includes a clubhouse, two restaurants, and berths enough for 350 as well as a dinghy dock. In 2017 the award-winning Dock Building was completed, designed by Michael Green Architecture, providing offices for the Harbour Master, instruction and amenity space and workshops to maintain boats, sails, and gear.
