Long Ballong
Long Ballong, now known as Long Puak, is an abandoned village found less than 0.5 kilometres away from Long Puak in Sarawak. Before the village was discontinued, due to un-strategic geographical location, the village was known to be the center for the surrounding villages like Long Banga, Long Peluan and Long Lamei. These villages sent their children to Long Ballong for education. Long Puak
Long Puak, formerly known as Long Ballong, is a small-village found about 2 km from Long Banga in the Marudi division of Sarawak, Malaysia. It lies approximately east-north-east of the state capital Kuching. Description It is believed that the population is less than 50 people, with majority of the inhabitants being Sabans, along with Kelabit and Kenyah people. The village's main activities are agriculture-based activities like planting paddy, fruits, raising chickens, pigs, buffalo and cows, and fishing. The village is very quiet; most of the younger generation have gone to urban areas like Miri and Marudi in search of better living and employment opportunities. Some have also gone to nearby logging camps to work as woodmen, mechanics and other timber-related jobs. Long Peluan
Long Peluan is a settlement in the Marudi division of Sarawak, Malaysia. It lies approximately east-north-east of the state capital Kuching. The village is located in the Ulu Baram area in the interior of Sarawak. The nearby village of Long Banga is about four hour’ walk away, and has an airport and a clinic that serves the surrounding villages including Long Peluan. A logging road now links Long Peluan with Long Banga, Merawa Camp, and other villages downstream. The village is on the outer limits of Kelabit territory and the people are predominantly Kelabits, though some members of the related Sa'ban tribe also live in Long Peluan.
