Mickey Gilley
Mickey Leroy Gilley (March 9, 1936 – May 7, 2022) was an American country music singer and songwriter. Although he started out singing straight-up country and western material in the 1970s, he moved towards a more pop-friendly sound in the 1980s, bringing him further success on not just the country charts, but the pop charts as well. Among his biggest hits are " Room Full of Roses", " Don't the Girls All Get Prettier at Closing Time", and the remake of the Soul hit " Stand by Me". Gilley charted 42 singles in the top 40 on the US Country chart. He was a cousin of Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl McVoy, and Jimmy Swaggart. Stewart Hamill Harris is an American country music songwriter. Active since the late 1970s, he has had four compositions which have reached number one on the '' Billboard'' Hot Country Songs chart. Biography and career Harris was born in Birmingham, Alabama but raised in South Carolina, where he performed as a folk music singer. He then moved to New York City and Washington, D.C. before meeting Harry Warner, president of Jerry Reed's publishing company, Vector Music. Through this connection he moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 1975 and began writing and touring with Reed. Harris also issued one album, ''Sing Me a Rainbow'', on Mercury Records in 1977. Robert Keith Stegall (born November 1, 1955) is an American country music recording artist and record producer. Active since 1980, Stegall has recorded two major-label studio albums: 1985's ''Keith Stegall'' and 1996's ''Passages'', although he is mainly known for his production work. Musical career Robert Keith Stegall was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, in 1955. He performed in local bands, spent a short time in northwestern Louisiana (in the mid-1970s) where he operated a small-time music recording business, then moved to Nashville, Tennessee, at the persuasion of Kris Kristofferson. Jim Ed Norman is an American musician, multi-platinum record producer, arranger and label-head. As an arranger and producer, he was one of the principal architects of the distinctive sound of West Coast 1970s pop and country rock. He was President of Warner Bros Records Nashville from 1984 to 2004. Early career Having grown up in Florida, Norman pursued music at North Texas State University where he met Don Henley and joined his group, Felicity, in 1969, playing keyboards and guitar. "You Don't Know Me" is a song written by Eddy Arnold and Cindy Walker in 1955. "You Don't Know Me" was first recorded by Arnold that year and released as a single on April 21, 1956, on RCA Victor.
