Ben Lomond
Ben Lomond (Scottish Gaelic: Beinn Laomainn, 'Beacon Mountain'), , is a mountain in the Scottish Highlands. Situated on the eastern shore of Loch Lomond, it is the most southerly of the Munros. Ben Lomond lies within the Ben Lomond National Memorial Park and the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, property of the National Trust for Scotland. Lomond, Newfoundland And Labrador
Lomond was a logging town in Newfoundland, Canada, located southeast of Woody Point near Bonne Bay. It developed out of the decline of the fishing industry in the area in the early 20th century and the rise of the logging and pulpwood industries. It was leveled for the creation of the Gros Morne National Park, all of its residents having been resettled as part of the Newfoundland government's general resettlement programme of the 1950s and 1960s. The park's Lomond campground is on the site of the town; by the end of the 20th century, the only structures there were park buildings. Britt Lomond
Britt Lomond (April 12, 1925 – March 22, 2006) was an American actor and television producer. Also credited as Glase Lohman. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Lomond was raised in New York City. He received three Purple Hearts, a Silver Star, and a Bronze Star for his military service as an Army paratrooper during World War II. He was a student at New York University after the war. Lomond was active with NYU's fencing team, and he earned a place on the United States' fencing team for the 1952 Olympics. Instead of going that route, he began fencing as a professional in productions on stage and in films. In 1956, Lomond played the Spaniard James Addison Reavis in the episode "The Baron of Arizona" of the anthology series, ''Death Valley Days'', hosted by Stanley Andrews. In the story line, two newspapermen doubt Reavis' claim to millions of acres in the New Mexico Territory, which then included Arizona. Lomond (foaled February 3, 1980, in Kentucky) was an Irish Thoroughbred racehorse best known for winning the 1983 Classic 2000 Guineas Stakes. Background Lomond was a bay horse bred in Kentucky by the partnership of Warner L. Jones, William S. Farish III and William S. Kilroy. He was sold as a foal in a private transaction for US$1.5 million to British racing's leading owner, Robert Sangster, who had built his highly successful stable from Northern Dancer offspring. He was sired by Northern Dancer, the most successful sire of the 20th Century, whom the National Thoroughbred Racing Association calls "one of the most influential sires in Thoroughbred history." The Lomond Hills (meaning either beacon hills or bare hills), also known outside the locality as the Paps of Fife, are a range of hills in central Scotland. They lie in western central Fife and Perth and Kinross, Scotland. At West Lomond is the highest point in the county of Fife. Lomond School
Lomond School is an independent, co-educational, day and boarding school in Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. Lomond School is, currently, the only day and boarding school on the west coast of Scotland. It was formed from a merger in 1977 between Larchfield School (founded 1845 and previously called Larchfield Academy) and St Bride's School for Girls (founded 1895). Lomond School primarily teaches to the Scottish Education System, but in pupils' senior years (S5 & S6) at the school they can move into the one of the International Baccalaureate programmes. The IB programmes were introduced in August 2021. It is a member school of the Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference.
