Lol Hammond
Lol Hammond (born 1969 in Stoke Newington, London, England) is a musician, producer and DJ. Hammond's career in electronic music started in the sound system Spiral Tribe in 1991. Simultaneously he created the production/remix act Drum Club together with London DJ Charlie Hall. Drum Club toured with Orbital in 1993 and released the studio albums ''Everything is Now'' and ''Drums Are Dangerous''. In 1995, Hammond and Nina Walsh formed the Brithop group Slab. He has also remixed artists such as Killing Joke, The Fall, Lush, Republica, Brian Eno, Chapterhouse, Curve, Jah Wobble, experimental keyboardist Brian Graves, and Alabama 3. Hammond released the 1998 album ''Thrilled By Velocity & Distortion'' with Matt Rowlands and vocalist Mandy Wall under the alias Girl Eats Boy. Hammond has released records under his own name, most notably the album ''All This is Bliss'' in 2001, and together with Roger Eno the album ''Damage'' in 1999. Dj Mix
A DJ mix or DJ mixset is a sequence of musical tracks typically mixed together to appear as one continuous track. DJ mixes are usually performed using a DJ mixer and multiple sounds sources, such as turntables, CD players, digital audio players or computer sound cards, sometimes with the addition of samplers and effects units, although it is possible to create one using sound editing software. DJ mixing is significantly different from live sound mixing. Remix services were offered beginning in the late 1970s in order to provide music which was more easily beatmixed by DJs for the dancefloor. One of the earliest DJs to refine their mixing skills was DJ Kool Herc. Francis Grasso was the first DJ to use headphones and a basic form of mixing at the New York City nightclub Sanctuary. Curve (band)
Curve were an English alternative rock and electronic music duo from London, formed in 1990 and split in 2005. The band consisted of Toni Halliday (vocals, occasionally guitar) and Dean Garcia (bass, guitar, drums, programming). Halliday wrote the lyrics of their songs and they both contributed to songwriting. Producer Alan Moulder was a prominent collaborator who helped shape their blend of heavy beats and densely–layered guitar tracks set against Halliday's vocals. Faintheart
''Faintheart'' is a 2008 British comedy film, directed by Vito Rocco and starring Eddie Marsan, Ewen Bremner and Jessica Hynes. It concerns a lead character involved in the historical reenactment of medieval battles; and is the first film to be created using active input from an online site. The film was a result of collaborative effort from Myspace, Vertigo films and Film4. The resulting group, MyMovieMashUp, sought to harness the talents of the online community and to enable them to be involved in the film-making process. Various cast and crew members were picked from the MySpaceUK website to work on the project, a unique tactic in the film-making industry.
