Lokanath
C. H. Loknath (14 August 1927 – 31 December 2018) was an Indian actor with more than 1000 Kannada plays and 650 films to his credit. Loknath is affectionately known as "Uncle Loknath" or "Uppinakayi" in the industry. His last performance was in a Star Suvarna Channel's TV series titled ''Priyadarshini''. Biography Some of the characters he has played are Galileo in ''Galileo'', Rajaram in ''Aspota'', Dr. Faustus in ''Dr. Faustus'', Kakaji in ''Tanavu Ninnade Manavu Ninnade'', and Dushtabudhi in ''Chandrahasa''. His most famous films include ''Bhootayyana Maga Ayyu'', ''Collegu Ranga'', ''Naagarahaavu'', ''Katha Sangama'', ''Hosa Neeru'', '' Singapurinalli Raja Kulla'', '' Minchina Ota'' and ''Mane Mane Kathe''. He has also acted in several episodes of '' Malgudi Days''. C. H. Loknath died after a brief illness on 31 December 2018, aged 91. Minchina Ota (1980 Film)
''Minchina Ota'' is a 1980 Indian Kannada language heist film directed by and starring Shankar Nag with his brother Anant Nag and Lokanath in pivotal roles. The supporting cast features Priya Tendulkar and Ramesh Bhat, who made his debut in the film. The film was a critical success and won multiple awards at the 1979–80 Karnataka State Film Awards including Second Best Film, Best Actor (Anant Nag) and Best Supporting Actor (Lokanath). It is seen as a milestone in the careers of the Nag brothers. ''Singaporenalli Raja Kulla'' () is a 1978 Indian Kannada language action film directed by C. V. Rajendran starring Vishnuvardhan, Manjula, Dwarkish, Lokanath and Thoogudeepa Srinivas in pivotal roles. It was the first Kannada film to be shot outside India in a country which is not a neighbouring nation and the second Kannada movie to be shot outside India after ''Operation Diamond Racket'' (which was shot in Nepal and released four months before this movie). ''Kakana Kote'' ( kn, ಕಾಕನ ಕೋಟೆ) is a 1977 Indian Kannada biographical drama film adapted from Masti Venkatesh Iyengar's stage play of the same name. The film plot tells the story of Kaka Nayaka who was instrumental in stopping the exploitation of tribal people in Mysore district against the tax payment from middlemen who were representing the ruling kingdom government. The film was directed by acclaimed theater artist C. R. Simha and the music was composed by C. Ashwath. The film featured seasoned actors such as Lokesh, Lokanath, Srinath and Girija Lokesh in the lead roles. The film was critically acclaimed and premiered in many film festivals. ''Pushpaka Vimana'' (; a reference to ) is a 1987 Indian black comedy film written and directed by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao, who co-produced it with Shringar Nagaraj. The film, which has no dialogue, stars Kamal Haasan leading an ensemble cast that includes Samir Khakhar, Tinu Anand, K. S. Ramesh, Amala, Farida Jalal, Pratap Potan, Lokanath, P. L. Narayana and Ramya. It revolves around an unemployed graduate who encounters a drunk rich man unconscious and takes over his lifestyle after keeping him prisoner. However, he does not realise the dangers he has brought upon himself because a hired killer believes him to be his target. ''Chinna'' is a 1994 Indian Kannada-language action film produced, written, directed and enacted by V. Ravichandran. The cast includes Yamuna, Puneet Issar, Mukhyamantri Chandru, Lokanath, and Pandari Bai.
