Logie Awards Of 1996
The 38th Annual TV Week Logie Awards was held on Sunday, April 21, 1996, at the Melbourne Park Function Centre in Melbourne, and broadcast on the Nine Network. The ceremony was hosted by Daryl Somers, and guests included Gloria Reuben and Holly Hunter. Winners and nominees The nominees for the 38th Logie Awards were announced in early April 1996. Unlike previous years, there were five nominations in each category. These were then cut to three on the night of the ceremony. The winners were announced during the awards ceremony on 21 April 1996. Melbourne Park
Melbourne Park is a sports venue in the Melbourne Sports and Entertainment Precinct in Melbourne, Victoria (Australia), Victoria, Australia. Since 1988 Australian Bicentenary, Australia's bicentenary, Melbourne Park has been home of the Australian Open Grand Slam tennis tournament played annually in January. The park has multiple venues where the Australian Open matches take place. Rod Laver Arena is the largest venue with a capacity of 15,000, while John Cain Arena seats 10,500 and Margaret Court Arena 7,500. Police Rescue
''Police Rescue'' is an Australian television series which originally aired on ABC TV between 1989 and 1996. It was produced by ABC and Southern Star Xanadu in association with the BBC. Apart from the 61 episodes, there was a 90-minute pilot episode (first screened in 1989) as well as a feature film in 1994, starring Zoe Carides. The series dealt with the New South Wales Police Rescue Squad based in Sydney and their work attending to various incidents from road accidents to train crashes. The show was very well received for the first four series, however a decline in ratings by the commencement of the 1996 series saw the cancellation of the show, following an almost epitaph in the final three episodes.
