Loganathan Arumugam
Loganathan Arumugam (15 July 1953 – 4 June 2007), better known as Loga, was a Malaysian musician and singer who was one of the founding members of the band Alleycats. Loga was one of the lead singers of Alleycats along with his elder brother David. Dato Loganathan Arumugam died from lung cancer at the Mount Miriam Hospital on 4 June 2007. He left behind 2 children, Vigneshwaran Loganathan and Priyadashini Loganathan, and his wife, Susan Lovie. Alleycats (Malaysian Rock Band)
The Alleycats is a Malaysian band which was formed in 1969, and gained popularity in the late 1970s. It consists of musicians from Penang who were popular in their home state earlier on in their career. History There were earlier line-ups of this band but the original line-up mentioned were the ones that took the Alleycats to great height of achievements musically. The Alleycats was always on top of the musical scene in Malaysia even before it was signed up as a recording band. This line-up secured a performance contract in the Mocambo Club situated in Central, a business sector on Hong Kong island in 1976. It was supposed to be a three-month contract but the band's success in wooing the crowd earned it three yearly contracts bundled with TV and concert appearances as means of promoting the band. David Arumugam
Dato’ Thiagarajan K.R. Arumugam (born 3 May 1950), known by his stage name David Arumugam, is a Malaysian musician and singer who is one of the founding members of the band called Alleycats. He is the elder brother of Loganathan Arumugam. On 12 February 2009, David Arumugam was conferred the Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP) award which carries the title of " Dato' " in conjunction with the Sultan of Pahang's 78th birthday on 24 October 2008. Early life David and his brother Loga were exposed to music making through their mother, radio announcer and Carnatic classical singer, who would often brought them along to her performance sessions; particularly in town halls. Priyadashini Loganathan (born December 17, 1987), known professionally as Dasha Logan, is a Malaysian singer-songwriter. She began her professional singing career at age 17 in her home town of Penang, Malaysia. Dasha is the daughter of Loganathan from the Malaysian band Alleycats. She is primarily a jazz and soul singer, best known for her song "Cleverly" which reached the number 1 spot on the UK Soul Chart in December 2014. Born and raised in Penang island, Malaysia, she began performing in 2004 with a weekly slot at Brazil 68 on Penang's Kelawei Road. She went on to perform regularly at multiple other venues on the island, culminating in a month-long residency at G Hotel's G Spot on Gurney Drive. Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah ibni Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mu’azzam Shah ( Jawi: ; 24 October 1930 – 22 May 2019) was the fifth modern Sultan of Pahang, and also served as the seventh Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia from 26 April 1979 to 25 April 1984. His abdication as Sultan was decided by the Royal Council at an extraordinary meeting on 11 January 2019. A special amendment was passed on the state constitution that gave the body more power for this decision, citing the Sultan's incapability to rule due to his failing health. The abdication announced the next day which was retroactively effective on the day of the Royal Council meeting, paving the way to his son, Abdullah to succeed him as Sultan immediately, and subsequently be elected as the next Yang di-Pertuan Agong later the same month.
