Logan Shane Allen (born May 23, 1997) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Seattle Mariners organization. He previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the San Diego Padres, Cleveland Indians/Guardians and the Baltimore Orioles. Early life Allen was born in Palm Beach, Florida, and raised in Fletcher, North Carolina. He is the second of three sons. He studied at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, to develop his talent for baseball. Career Boston Red Sox Allen was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the eighth round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft out of IMG Academy. In baseball, the pitcher is the player who throws ("pitches") the baseball from the pitcher's mound toward the catcher to begin each play, with the goal of retiring a batter, who attempts to either make contact with the pitched ball or draw a walk. The Texas League Pitcher of the Year Award is an annual award given to the best pitcher in Minor League Baseball's Texas League based on their regular-season performance as voted on by league managers.
