Dana Lofland
Dana Lofland Dormann (born September 16, 1967) is an American professional golfer who played on the LPGA Tour. She also played under her maiden name Dana Lofland and as Dana Lofland-Dormann. Lofland won the 1985 U.S. Girls' Junior and the 1985 Junior World Golf Championships (Girls 15–17). Dormann won twice on the LPGA Tour in 1992 and 1993. Dormann is the assistant head coach of the San Jose State University's woman's golf team and her husband John is the head coach. She is also a teaching pro at the Pleasanton Golf Center in Pleasanton, California. Jacob Lofland
Jacob Seth Lofland (born July 30, 1996) is an American actor best known for his role as Neckbone in the film ''Mud'' and for his role as Aris in '' Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials'' and '' Maze Runner: The Death Cure''. Life and career Lofland was born in Briggsville, Arkansas, the son of Billy and Debra Lofland. He began his film career playing Neckbone in Jeff Nichols' ''Mud'', with Matthew McConaughey and Tye Sheridan. The director wanted to find a young actor locally for the part, and had casting notices placed in regional newspapers. Coming across one of them, Lofland's mother recognized that her son fit every adjective of Neck's personality description, as well as bringing the boating and cycle riding experience for which Nichols was looking. John Lofland (poet)
John Lofland (1798–1849), widely known as the "Milford Bard" of Milford, Delaware, was a prolific and widely read writer of prose, verse, and speeches. He grew up and spent much of his life in "The Towers" on North West Front Street in Milford. Later in his life he moved to Baltimore, Maryland where he associated with Edgar Allan Poe. Family Background Lofland was born in Milford, Delaware on March 17, 1798. His father, Isaac, had moved to Milford from Frederica to start a general merchandise business. Isaac had married twice, but, tragically, both his wives had died. His third marriage was to Cynthia Virden, the daughter of a prominent local figure in Brown's Branch, five miles north of Milford. The marriage is speculated to have been an arranged one, a tactic of Cynthia's father to forge a strong relationship with Isaac, who held great sway in the local community. John Lofland (sociologist)
John Franklin Lofland (born 1936) is an American sociologist best known for his studies of the peace movement and for his first book, '' Doomsday Cult: A Study of Conversion, Proselytization, and Maintenance of Faith'', which was based on field work among a group of Unification Church members in California in the 1960s. It is considered to be one of the most important and widely cited studies of the process of religious conversion, and one of the first modern sociological studies of a new religious movement. Biography Lofland was born in Milford, Delaware, and attended Swarthmore College, Columbia University, and the University of California, Berkeley, where he earned a PhD in sociology based on his Unification Church study. Since 1970 he has been a professor in the sociology department at the University of California, Davis, where he is now Emeritus Professor of Sociology .
