Lobos De Arecibo
Lobos de Arecibo ( en, Wolves) were a professional baseball team in the Puerto Rican Professional Baseball League, based in Arecibo. The Lobos won the 1983 national baseball championship and the 1983 Caribbean World Series, the only time the franchise won both titles. History The franchise first appeared in the 1960–61 season, managed by former major leaguer Luis Rodriguez Olmo. The ‘Lobos’ could not participate in the 1981–82 season, and requested a recess. Their players were allowed to be drafted by the other teams, on the condition that they would be returned to Arecibo if the ‘Lobos’ were to play the following season. The team filed for returning to play the following season (1982–83), which required a vote from the other team owners. Arecibo, Puerto Rico
Arecibo (; ) is a city and municipality on the northern coast of Puerto Rico, on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, located north of Utuado and Ciales; east of Hatillo; and west of Barceloneta and Florida. Estrellas Orientales (English: Eastern Stars), also known as Estrellas de Oriente, is a baseball team in the Dominican Winter League. Based in San Pedro de Macorís, the team has historically struggled, winning championships only in 1936, 1954, 1968 and 2019. History The team was established on 15 December 1910 with the idea of competing against Tigres del Licey, that dominated the Dominican League during those years. The Águilas Cibaeñas (English lit. ''Cibaoan Eagles'') is a professional baseball team in the Dominican Republic's Dominican Professional Baseball League, winter baseball league. Cangrejeros de Santurce (English: Santurce Crabbers) is a professional baseball team based in Santurce, the largest barrio of San Juan, Puerto Rico. San Juan Senators
The (lit. San Juan Senators) was a professional baseball team based in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Senadores club was founded in 1938 and played intermittently in the Liga de Béisbol Profesional de Puerto Rico, the predecessor to the current Liga de Béisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente. For the 1984–1985 season, they were rechristened as the Metros de San Juan, a name that they conserved until the 1993–1994 tournament. The team was sold in 2004 and subsequently relocated to Arecibo.
