''Loadstar'' () was a disk magazine for the Commodore 64 computer, published starting in 1984 and ceasing publication in 2007 with its unreleased (until 2010) 250th issue. It derived its name from the command commonly used to execute commercial software from a Commodore 1541 disk: LOAD "*",8,1, with inspiration from the word "lodestar". ''Loadstar'' was launched as a sister publication of ''Softdisk'', based in Shreveport, Louisiana. It was the second platform for which Softdisk produced a disk magazine, after the Apple II. At the time, the Commodore 64 was a very popular home computer due to its inexpensive price and advanced graphics and sound capabilities. Early issues of ''Loadstar'' were produced by the Softdisk staff, most of whom had more experience with Apple than Commodore computers at the time, and much of the content was ported over from the Apple. Loadstar (duo)
Loadstar is music production duo from Bristol, United Kingdom. They produced predominantly drum and bass however they worked in other genres such as dubstep and electro. The duo consisted of Gavin "Xample" Harris and Nick "Lomax" Hill. They previously produced under the alias Xample & Lomax. Career 2007–2009: Record deal and formation The two artists met while Bristol-born Xample was studying sociology at Liverpool University. Lomax was one-third of the production trio Holdtight at the time. Xample booked Holdtight for a drum and bass event, and Lomax moved to Bristol shortly afterwards. Xample sent some tracks to Andy C via instant message, and soon afterwards was signed to his label RAM Records. The duo's first release was the track " The Latter" which was released on 28 May 2007. The International Loadstar is a series of trucks that were produced by International Harvester from 1962 to 1978. The first product line of the company developed specifically as a medium-duty truck, the Loadstar was slotted between C-Line pickup trucks and the heavy-duty R-series. Following the discontinuation of the R-series, the Loadstar was slotted below the Fleetstar and Transtar conventionals. Produced primarily as a straight truck, the Loadstar was developed primarily for applications such as local delivery, construction, and agriculture. Along with fire truck applications, the Loadstar was offered as a "Schoolmaster" cowled school bus chassis. In 1978, International introduced the medium-duty S-Series, consolidating the Loadstar and Fleetstar into a single model family.
