Antoni Rubió I Lluch
Antoni Rubió i Lluch ( es, Antonio Rubió y Lluch; Valladolid 1856 – Barcelona 1937) was a Spanish historian and intellectual who published in Catalan and Spanish. A Hellenist and a medievalist, he left his mark on the study of the Catalan period in Greece, ca. 1301 – ca. 1409. Biography Son of the poet Joaquim Rubió i Ors, Rubió y Lluch studied philosophy and literature at the University of Barcelona under Manuel Milà i Fontanals and Francesc Xavier Llorens i Barba and in the company of Marcelino Menéndez Pelayo, who was a longtime friend and colleague. The two are icons of Catalan positivism. In 1880 he became a tutor in the literature faculty there and in 1885 a full professor of general literature at the University of Oviedo, from which he was transferred to Barcelona. Ernest Lluch
Ernest Lluch Martín, (21 January 1937 – 21 November 2000) was a Spanish economist and politician, member of the Socialists' Party of Catalonia (PSC). He was Minister of Health and Consumption from 1982 to 1986 in the first Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) government of Felipe González. He was assassinated in 2000 by the Basque separatist organisation, ETA. Background Lluch was born in Vilassar de Mar, Barcelona province. He earned a PhD in Economic Sciences at the University of Barcelona (UB), and studied further at the Sorbonne in Paris. While he was a lecturer at the UB, he was arrested on several occasions and expelled from the university because of his anti-francoist political activity. From this position, he published seminal works on Spanish political economy. Rosa Lluch Bramon (born 1969) is a Spanish historian, university professor, and academic secretary of the History and Archeology Department of the University of Barcelona. Biography Born in 1969 in Barcelona, she is the daughter of Dolors Bramon and Ernest Lluch. Bramon held the title interim university degree holder for the department of Medieval History, Paleography and Diplomacy for University of Barcelona in 1960. She graduated to a degree holder in 1992 with her research paper "El es remences de la Pia Almoina de la Seu de Girona". Bramon earned her PhD degree at the University of Girona in 2003 and now works as a professor of history at the University of Barcelona. Vicente Rojo Lluch
Vicente Rojo Lluch (8 October 1894 – 15 June 1966) was Chief of the General Staff of the Spanish Armed Forces during the Spanish Civil War. Early life He was the posthumous son of a military man who fought against the Carlists and in the campaigns of Cuba, from where he returned ill. In 1911 Rojo entered the Infantry Academy at the Alcazar of Toledo, receiving his commission in 1914 with the rank of second lieutenant, fourth in a class of 390 cadets. After having been assigned to Barcelona he went on to the Group of Regulars from Ceuta (the ''Regulares'' were Moroccan colonial troops with Spanish officers). He was later posted back to Barcelona and to La Seu d'Urgell. In 1922, having risen to the rank of captain, he returned to the Infantry Academy in Toledo, where he occupied diverse educational and administrative positions. Cata Coll
Catalina Thomas Coll Lluch (born 23 April 2001), most commonly known as Cata Coll, is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Liga F club FC Barcelona. In the summer of 2018, at the age of 17, she was one of the captains during the historic triumph of the Spanish U17 team at the World Cup. In the same year, she was a starter for the U20 side at the World Cup in France. Club career Cata Coll started her career at Athletic Marratxí, before moving to Collerense. In July 2019, Coll joined Barcelona on a permanent deal, signing a professional contract until 30 June 2023. She then spent the 2019–20 season on loan at fellow top-tier club Sevilla.
