Lloyd McGrath
Lloyd McGrath (born 24 February 1965) is an English retired professional footballer. A hard-working midfielder, McGrath made his senior debut for Coventry City F.C., Coventry City on 28 April 1984 in one of their heaviest defeats ever - an 8-2 Football League First Division defeat at Southampton F.C., Southampton. However, three years later he took part in the biggest success of their history so far - the 1987 FA Cup Final triumph over Tottenham Hotspur F.C., Tottenham Hotspur. He set up the winning goal with a cross that was deflected off the knee of Gary Mabbutt. By the time of his departure to Hong Kong First Division League side Sing Tao SC, Sing Tao at the end of the 1993-94 in English football, 1993-94 season, when the Sky Blues finished 11th in the FA Premier League, he had played 214 league games for the club and scored four goals. The Hong Kong First Division League () is the second-highest division in the Hong Kong football league system. Established in 1908, it is the third oldest in Asia. The league was formerly the highest division in Hong Kong until the formation of the Hong Kong Premier League in 2014. Since 1908, a total of 29 clubs have been crowned champions of the Hong Kong football system. South China are the most successful club, having won 41 times since their first participation in 1941. A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders.
