Llanrumney High School
Llanrumney High School ( cy, Ysgol Uwchradd Llanrhymni) was an English medium co-educational, community secondary school located in the Llanrumney area of Cardiff, Wales. History The school served the communities of Llanrumney, Pentwyn and St Mellons on the eastern side of Cardiff when it closed. It was opened in 1957 as a segregated school. It later became a mixed-sex school with 647 children aged 11–16 attending during the Estyn school inspection in 2006, showing a reduction compared to 774 in 2000. 4% came from ethnic minority backgrounds. English Language

The Local Government Act 1972 (c. 70) is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that reformed local government in England and Wales on 1 April 1974. It was one of the most significant Acts of Parliament to be passed by the Heath Government of 1970–74. Rumney High School was an English medium co-educational, community school in the Rumney area of Cardiff, Wales. The school served the communities of Rumney and Trowbridge on the eastern side of Cardiff and was opened in the 1950s alongside Llanrumney High School. Rumney High School was opened in the 1950s as Cae'r Castell School. In 1958 the school was used as one of the venues for the Sixth Commonwealth Games, hosting all seven fencing competitions. The event saw Wales take two bronze medals, in the team sabre and foil events, and several of the competitions were attended by Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and Charles the future Prince of Wales.
