Llangwm, Conwy
Llangwm is a village and community in Conwy County Borough, in Wales. It is located in the valley of the Afon Medrad, close to the borders with Denbighshire and Gwynedd, south of Cerrigydrudion, west of Corwen and south east of Conwy. At the 2001 census the community had a population of 516, decreasing to 470 at the 2011 census. It is one of three communities in the Uwchaled ward, and includes the hamlets of Dinmael, Gellioedd, Glan-yr-afon, Llangwm, Maerdy, and Ty-nant. The Old House at Cysulog, north-west of Maerdy, is a -storey 17th-century farmhouse built of stone, with slate roofs and some weatherboarding. It bears date panels showing both 1650 and 1652, and is Grade II* listed. In the centre of Maerdy, Gwesty y Gafr ( en, The Goat Hotel) is an early 19th-century inn, which still retains the character of a roadside hostelry. It is Grade II listed. Llangwm, Monmouthshire
Llangwm is a small rural village and former community, now in the community of Llantrisant Fawr, in Monmouthshire, south east Wales. It is located east of Usk, on the B4235 Chepstow to Usk road. The main village is at Llangwm Uchaf ("Upper Llangwm"), with a smaller and more dispersed settlement about to the north-east at Llangwm Isaf ("Lower Llangwm").The other settlement in the community is Llansoy. In 2022 the community was abolished and merged with Llantrisant Fawr. History and amenities Church of St. Jerome Llangwm Uchaf is best known for the Church of St. Jerome. The oldest parts of the church date from the 12th century, built in the Early English style. The church was partly rebuilt by J. P. Seddon in the 1860s. The church contains a remarkable medieval rood screen and rood loft, , restored during Seddon's 19th-century reconstruction.
