Llandyrnog United F.C.
Llandyrnog United F.C. is a football team that was founded in 1975 in Llandyrnog, near Denbigh, Wales. They play in the . The club was formed after a few villagers met in the Golden Lion Public House. The golden lion on the club crest is in recognition of this. They were admitted into the Clwyd League Division 4 gaining promotion at the first attempt. Llandyrnog remained in Division 2/3 until the end of 1978/79 when they were promoted as runners up. The club spent over a decade in Division 1 until 1990/91 when they gained promotion to the Premier Division. Llandyrnog were crowned champions at their first attempt and promoted to the Sealink Welsh Alliance. Llandyrnog is a large village and community in Denbighshire, Wales lying in the valley of the River Clwyd, about from Denbigh and from Ruthin. The village has good road links to Denbigh and the main A541 road at Bodfari, and is served by buses number 76 and 53. The village contains the Church of St. Tyrnog's is a Grade II* listed building, and has a notable creamery on the outskirts and former hospital. The community includes the settlements of Waen, Ffordd-las and Llangwyfan. Landmarks The Church of St. Tyrnog's, a small Welsh-language chapel, is a Grade II* listed building in the village. The church was first mentioned in 1254, though the current building dates to the late 15th century. The Vale of Clwyd and Conwy Football League ( cy, Dyffryn Clwyd & Chonwy) was a football league formed in 2011 following the split of the Clwyd Football League, which itself was formed in 1974 as an amalgamation of the Dyserth and the Halkyn Mountain League. Cymru Alliance
The Cymru Alliance League (known for sponsorship reasons as Huws Gray Alliance) was a football league in north and central Wales which formed the second level of the Welsh football league system. From the 2019/20 season onwards, it was replaced by the Cymru North. If the team which finished top of the league held a Domestic Licence, it could apply for promotion to the Welsh Premier League and was replaced by one of the bottom two teams in the Welsh Premier League. If the league champions did not hold a Domestic Licence, then the team which finished second, if in possession of a Domestic Licence, could be promoted instead. The Clwyd Football League was a football league formed in 1974 as an amalgamation of the Dyserth League and the Halkyn Mountain League. The top division was at different periods at the second, third and fourth levels of the Welsh football league system in North Wales.
