Ljusdal () is a locality and the seat of Ljusdal Municipality, Gävleborg County, Sweden with 6,230 inhabitants in 2010. Ljusdal is situated on Riksväg 83 which runs between Tönnebro in Söderhamn Municipality in Gävleborg County and Ånge in Västernorrland County. It is located beside the river Ljusnan which goes from Bruksvallarna to the Gulf of Bothnia. Ljusdal is noted for having hosted the annual Bandy World Cup in the sport of bandy from 1974 to 2008. Three Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland situated in Ljusdal Municipality were inscribed in 2012 on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. Ljusdals IF
Ljusdals IF is a sports club in Ljusdal, Sweden, currently only playing soccer. History The club was founded on 9 June 1904 and originally competed in soccer, track and field athletics, gymnastics and cross-country skiing. The club has also competed in bandy, ski jumping, handball, ice hockey, orienteering and swimming. The men's soccer team made it to the Norrland Championship final game in 1950, losing 0–4 to Skellefteå AIK. The team also played four seasons in the Swedish top division between 1968–1971. Ljusdals IF currently plays in Division 4 Hälsingland which is the sixth tier of Swedish football. They play their home matches at the Älvvallen in Ljusdal. Decorated Farmhouses Of Hälsingland
The Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland ( sv, Världsarvet Hälsingegårdar) is a World Heritage Site inscribed 1 July 2012 as Sweden's fifteenth entry on the list. Seven farmhouses erected in the 19th century were eventually selected to represent the most distinguished and well preserved examples of local architectural and decorative tradition. Preparations for a nomination began during the 1990s. The initial nomination was a heterogeneous collection of farmhouses and environments connected to agrarian culture in Hälsingland. Fifteen sites including an entire village were represented. The first nomination was rejected at the conference in Sevilla in 2009, with the suggestion of curating a narrower selection of sites. Bandy is a winter sport and ball sport played by two teams wearing ice skates on a large ice surface (either indoors or outdoors) while using sticks to direct a ball into the opposing team's goal. The international governing body for bandy is the Federation of International Bandy (FIB). Bandy World Cup
The Bandy World Cup is an international bandy competition played in Sweden at the beginning of the bandy season every year, in autumn. The participating teams qualify based on their results in the previous bandy season. The World Cup is not played by national teams but is for bandy clubs from around the world, and should therefore not be confused with the Bandy World Championship. It is usually considered to be "the world championship for clubs". The tournament has been dominated by Swedish and Russian teams. Bruksvallarna is a village situated in Härjedalen Municipality in Jämtland County, Sweden. Its relatively high altitude, 720 meters, provides a long ski season. Bruksvallsloppet, an international Cross-country skiing competition, is held annually in Bruksvallarna during the month of November. The village had 95 inhabitants in 2010.
