A skate video is a movie of or about skateboarding typically showing new tricks and a series of skateboarders in a montage set to music. History Released in 1965, the short film '' Skaterdater'' is credited as the first film to depict skateboarding and therefore the first ''skate video.'' In 2015, The Berrics campaigned for the film's acceptance into the National Film Registry. However, the Powell Peralta company is often credited as creating the first skate videos proper that were not a part of a fictional film or a documentary. Their first video, ''The Bones Brigade Video Show'' (1984), was expected to sell just 300 copies on VHS, but it sold 30,000. Stephen Baldwin
Stephen Andrew Baldwin (born May 12, 1966) is an American actor, producer and director. The film was shot in Portland, Oregon and stars Stephen Baldwin and skateboarders Jud Heald, Tim Byrne (skateboarder), Tim Byrne, Luke Braddock, Anthony Carney, Jared Lee (skateboarder), Jared Lee, Phil Trotter, and Sierra Fellers. Robert Lance Mountain (born June 13, 1964) is a professional skateboarder and artist who was one of the prominent skateboarders throughout the 1980s, primarily due to his involvement with the Bones Brigade. Ray Barbee (born October 5, 1971) is an American skateboarder, photographer, and musician from San Jose, California. Skateboarding Barbee was one of the first skateboarders to bring freestyle/flatland tricks to street, technical ollie combinations and numerous no comply variations. He is best known for his no complys and fluid style. Barbee appeared in the Powell Peralta videos ''Public Domain,'' ''Ban This'' and ''Propaganda.'' Christian Rosha Hosoi ( ; born October 5, 1967) is an American professional skateboarder. He is also known by the nicknames "Christ" and "Holmes". Early life Hosoi was born on October 5, 1967 to a father of Japanese descent from Hawaii, and a mother of European and American descent. He grew up in Los Angeles and Hawaii. Skateboard career Hosoi started skating at seven or eight years old with veterans such as Shogo Kubo, Tony Alva, Stacy Peralta, and Jay Adams as his idols. Brian Sumner is a British skateboarder, Christian pastor and traveling evangelist, originally from Liverpool, England. Sumner came to America at age 15, to pursue a career as a professional skateboarder. He currently resides in Huntington Beach, CA.
