Liverpool International Music Festival
Liverpool International Music Festival (LIMF), formerly known as the Liverpool Mathew Street Music Festival, is an event held annually at Sefton Park in Liverpool. It takes place every summer and was Europe's largest free music event, although since 2018 it has become a paid, ticketed event. Established in 2012, Liverpool International Music Festival is organised by Culture Liverpool. In 2018, over 70 artists including Basement Jaxx, Wiley (musician), Wiley, Example (musician), Example, Jax Jones, Stefflon Don, Aurora (singer), Aurora, Young Fathers, Rae Morris, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Trevor Nelson, and Gilles Peterson performed at the festival. Over the two days, LIMF paid homage to Liverpool's ever-evolving relationship with music and its creative cultural diversity. Aurora (singer)
Aurora Aksnes (born 15 June 1996), known mononymously as Aurora (stylized in all caps), is a Norwegian singer, songwriter and record producer. Born in Stavanger and raised in the towns of Høle and Os, she began writing her first songs and learning dance at the age of six. After some of her songs were uploaded online and became popular in Norway, she signed a recording contract with Petroleum Records, Decca and Glassnote Records in 2014. Aurora gained recognition with her debut extended play (EP), ''Running with the Wolves'' (2015), which contained the sleeper hit " Runaway". Gilles Jérôme Moehrle MBE (; born 28 September 1964), better known as Gilles Peterson (), is a French broadcaster, DJ, and record label owner. He founded the influential labels Acid Jazz and Talkin' Loud, and started his current label Brownswood Recordings in 2006. He was awarded an honorary MBE in 2004, the AIM Award for Indie Champion and the ''Mixmag'' Award for Outstanding Contribution To Dance Music in 2013, the PRS for Music Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music Radio in 2014, and The A&R Award from the Music Producers Guild in 2019. Rachel Anne "Rae" Morris (born 2 September 1992) is an English singer and songwriter. She released her debut album, '' Unguarded'', in 2015. Young Fathers
Young Fathers are a Scottish band based in Edinburgh, Scotland. In 2014, they won the Mercury Prize for their album ''Dead''. History Formed in Edinburgh in 2008 by Alloysious Massaquoi, Kayus Bankole and Graham 'G' Hastings, the group started performing in nightclubs when the band members were all in their teens. In 2012, they signed to LA-based label Anticon and released their introductory mixtapes, ''Tape One'' and '' Tape Two'', with '' Tape Two'' winning the Scottish Album of the Year Award ("The SAY Award"). She rose to fame after her 2017 single " Hurtin' Me" featuring French Montana peaked at number 7 on UK Singles Chart.
