''Live on the Edge of Forever'' is the first live album by progressive metal band Symphony X, which was recorded in Élysée Montmartre, Paris during their European tour in 2000, and released in 2001. The album starts like their previous studio effort ''V – The New Mythology Suite'', but whereas "The Death of Balance" normally segues into "Lacrymosa," it now segues into "Candlelight Fantasia" from ''The Divine Wings of Tragedy'' album. Many classics are eventually played, including the neoclassical "Smoke and Mirrors" and the epic "The Divine Wings of Tragedy." No tracks from the first two albums are performed, even though the album's title references a track from '' The Damnation Game''. YYZ (instrumental)
"YYZ" is an instrumental rock composition by the band Rush from their 1981 album '' Moving Pictures''. It is one of the band's most popular pieces and was a staple of the band's live performances. The live album '' Exit... Stage Left'' (1981) and the concert video recording ''A Show of Hands'' (1989) both include versions in which Neil Peart incorporates a drum soloas an interlude on the former, and as a segue out of the piece on the latter. Title and composition YYZ is the IATA airport identification code of Toronto Pearson International Airport, near Rush's hometown. The band was introduced to the rhythm as Alex Lifeson flew them into the airport. A VHF omnidirectional range system at the airport broadcasts the YYZ identifier code in Morse code. Symphony X Albums
A symphony is an extended musical composition in Western classical music, most often for orchestra. Although the term has had many meanings from its origins in the ancient Greek era, by the late 18th century the word had taken on the meaning common today: a work usually consisting of multiple distinct sections or movements, often four, with the first movement in sonata form. Symphonies are almost always scored for an orchestra consisting of a string section (violin, viola, cello, and double bass), brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments which altogether number about 30 to 100 musicians. Jason Rullo
Jason Rullo (born July 17, 1972) is an American drummer, who is one of the founding members of progressive metal band Symphony X. In 2003, he was featured in a readers' poll for ''Modern Drummer'' magazine, where he achieved two awards: second place in the up-and-coming drummer poll, and third place for best recorded performance on Symphony X's ''The Odyssey'' (2002). In the same year, he performed on the self-titled debut album by Redemption. He currently teaches drum lessons at Big Beat Studios in New Jersey. On February 27, 2013, it was announced by Symphony X's management that, during the previous week, Jason was admitted to hospital for heart failure. He spent a week in hospital, and was released after some days. Jason then started a rehab program, and has been told that his recovery will take a minimum of 3–6 months under doctors' care. The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. Michael Pinnella (born August 29, 1969) is an American keyboard player, most notably for the band Symphony X. Michael is one of two Symphony X members to appear on all nine of the band's albums (the other being Michael Romeo). He has released two solo albums, titled Enter By the Twelfth Gate (2004) and Ascension (2014), mostly composed of instrumental, classical-styled progressive metal. Michael James Romeo (born March 6, 1968) is an American guitarist and a founding member of the progressive metal group Symphony X.
