Live On Other Planets
''Live on Other Planets'' is a double live album by Supergrass. Released on 27 November 2020, it consists of songs recorded during the band's reunion tour from earlier that year. Its title is a play on the band's fourth studio album, ''Life on Other Planets''. Background In 2018, the former members of Supergrass set in motion plans for a reunion tour in 2020 with the purpose of celebrating the 25th and 10th anniversaries of their formation and break-up, respectively. Following a surprise set at Glastonbury Festival’s Pilton Party on 6 September 2019, the band announced their 2020 reunion tour dates in Europe and the U.S. The Supergrass reunion gigs were well-received, with their 21 February show at the Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow garnering a five-star review from ''The Guardian''. Supergrass are an English rock band formed in 1993 in Oxford. For the majority of the band's tenure, the line-up consisted of brothers Gaz (lead vocals, guitar) and Rob Coombes (keyboards), Mick Quinn (bass, backing vocals) and Danny Goffey (drums, backing vocals). Originally a three-piece, Rob Coombes officially joined the band in 2002. The band signed to Parlophone Records in 1994 and produced ''I Should Coco'' (1995), the best-selling debut album for the label since the Beatles' ''Please Please Me''. Seen The Light
"Seen the Light" is a song by English rock band Supergrass. It was the third single from their fourth album ''Life on Other Planets''. It was the first Supergrass release on DVD and reached number 22 on the UK Singles Chart when it was released in January 2003. The B-Side "The Loner" is a cover version of a Neil Young song. Music video The video begins with the statement "All the world await this human drama, of man's faith in God", which then leads straight to the start of the song itself. It is mainly black-and-white footage (however, there is a brief period of colour film around the middle eight) of music concert goers, people experiencing religious revelations and preacher men. The video ends with a wild audience applauding 1950s teen idol Fabian Forte, and finally a preacher proclaiming; "When you get to heaven, it'll all be out, and over." Caught By The Fuzz
"Caught by the Fuzz" is the debut single of Britpop band Supergrass. Background Supergrass had released "Caught by the Fuzz" and "Mansize Rooster" as singles on Backbeat Records, which sold out quickly and gained the interest of record producer Sam Williams, who then offered to record some demos of the band's other songs at Sawmills Studio. These acclaimed demos attracted major label interest, and after an A&R scrutinised gig at the Jericho Tavern in Oxford, they managed to secure a deal with Parlophone. Despite being a new and obscure band, critics welcomed Supergrass as a voice of youth, in part because they were so young, but also because their music was fresh, exuberant and fast-paced. "Bad Blood" is the second single from British rock group Supergrass, Supergrass' sixth album, ''Diamond Hoo Ha''. It was released on 17 March 2008, which was one week before the album's release date. The song is about a rough night out in Reykjavík, Iceland, as Gaz Coombes explains; "We'd played the Iceland Airwaves, Airwaves festival, and it was about four in the morning, and right outside our bedroom window in Reykjavík there were loads of boozy scuffles. A really beautiful town, peaceful during the day – then it just went mental at night with drunken fights and shouting. I just thought the contrast was amazing. We carried on writing the lyrics later, using experiences we'd had, wandering around New York City at two in the morning, the worse for wear, and being excited by the dangers, but also being a bit naive. "Pumping on Your Stereo" is a song by Supergrass, released as their first single from their self-titled third album (1999) on 24 May 1999. The single reached No. 11 on the UK Singles Chart and in New Zealand. It also peaked at No. 13 on the Canadian ''RPM'' Top 30 Rock Report in May 2000. "Alright" is a song by British alternative rock band Supergrass. It was released with "Time" as a double A-side single from their debut album, ''I Should Coco'' (1995), on 3 July 1995. It was concurrently released on the soundtrack of the 1995 movie ''Clueless'', which helped it become a big hit for the band. It peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart, number six in Iceland, number eight in Ireland, number 30 in France and number 96 in Australia. It is the band's most successful single on the charts.
