Live In Europe (Otis Redding Album)
''Live in Europe'' is a live album from soul singer Otis Redding. It was Redding's first live album as well as the only live album released during his lifetime, issued exactly five months before his death on December 10, 1967. The album was recorded during the Stax/Volt tour of Europe and Redding is backed by Booker T. & the MG's. Recorded at the Olympia Theatre, Paris; March 21, 1967. The album is currently available on compact disc, digitally remastered by Bill Inglot and Dan Hersch as part of the Atlantic & Atco Remasters Series done on Rhino Records. Alternately, seven of its ten tracks appear as bonus tracks to the 2008 reissue of ''Otis Blue'' or the 2016 reissue of '' The Otis Redding Dictionary of Soul'', also on Rhino. ''Live in Europe'' is the second release from prog/rock supergroup, Flying Colors. It was recorded on 20 September 2012, during the band's first tour, at the 013 in Tilburg, Netherlands. It was the 12th show the band had ever played. Mascot Label Group released the album on Blu-ray, DVD, 3-LP vinyl, 2-CD, Mastered for iTunes, and MP3 digital download. The Blu-ray and DVD versions included stereo and 5.1 surround mixes, and a 45-minute documentary, First Flight, edited by Randy George. ''Live in Europe'' debuted at No. 1 on the French national charts. Three live videos were released by Mascot Label Group: "Odyssey", "The Storm", and "All Falls Down". The third vinyl disk contained a hidden track, "Space Trucking", which was recorded during an impromptu encore which closed the show; the band has never before or since performed the song. ''Live in Germany 1976'' is a live album released by Rainbow in 1990. The tracks are cherry-picked from a series of German dates during their world tour in September 1976 (Cologne on the 25th, Düsseldorf on the 27th, Nuremberg on the 28th, and Munich on the 29th). It was re-released two years later in the USA as ''Live in Europe'' on a different label. The content is the same for both although sleeve notes differ. A remixed 6-CD box set '' Deutschland Tournee 1976'' featuring three of the four German dates recorded in 1976 was released in Japan in 2006, with each concert being released as a separate 2CD package in Europe through the year. ''Live in Europe 1993'' (alternative title: ''On Tour MCMXCIII'') is a live box-set, released by Sony/BMG, containing two concerts recorded by Deep Purple in 1993. Each concert has its own gatefold sleeve and paper CD-liners, being housed in a cardboard outer box. The first recording is from a show on 16 October at the Schleyerhalle in Stuttgart, Germany. The second is from a show at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, England on 9 November, which would be the final show Ritchie Blackmore did with Deep Purple in England. The live album '' Come Hell or High Water'' from 1994 was recorded at this Stuttgart show. The Birmingham show was released on DVD as '' Come Hell or High Water'' in 1994. In 2007 each show had a separate release, in a jewel-case, being titled ''Live in Stuttgart'' and ''Live at the Birmingham NEC''. Burl Icle Ivanhoe Ives (June 14, 1909 – April 14, 1995) was an American musician, actor, and author with a career that spanned more than six decades. Ives began his career as an itinerant singer and guitarist, eventually launching his own radio show, ''The Wayfaring Stranger'', which popularized traditional folk songs. In 1942, he appeared in Irving Berlin's ''This Is the Army'' and became a major star of CBS Radio. In the 1960s, he successfully crossed over into country music, recording hits such as "A Little Bitty Tear" and "Funny Way of Laughin'". Ives was also a popular film actor through the late 1940s and '50s. His film roles included parts in ''So Dear to My Heart'' (1948) and ''Cat on a Hot Tin Roof'' (1958), as well as the role of Rufus Hannassey in ''The Big Country'' (1958), for which he won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. ''Live in Europe'' is a live album by American jazz ensemble Rashied Ali Quintet, led by drummer Ali, and featuring saxophonist Lawrence Clark, trumpeter Josh Evans, pianist Greg Murphy, and bassist Joris Teepe. ''Live! in Europe'' is the third album by Irish blues guitarist Rory Gallagher, released in 1972. It is a series of live recordings made during his European tour that year. Unusual for a live album, it contains only two songs previously recorded and released by Gallagher ("Laundromat" and "In Your Town"). The other songs are either new Gallagher songs or Gallagher's interpretation of traditional blues songs.
