''Live in Brussels '19'' is the third in a trio of benefit live albums by Australian psychedelic rock band King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, which was released digitally to Bandcamp on 15 January 2020. The previous two live albums, ''Live in Adelaide '19'', and ''Live in Paris '19'', were both released five days prior. The album debuted at number 34 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Background The album features a set by the band performed at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels on 8 and 9 October 2019. King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard
King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard are an Australian rock band formed in 2010 in Melbourne, Victoria. The band's current lineup consists of Stu Mackenzie, Ambrose Kenny-Smith, Cook Craig, Joey Walker, Lucas Harwood and Michael Cavanagh. ''Infest the Rats' Nest'' is the fifteenth studio album by Australian psychedelic rock band King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. It was released on 16 August 2019 by the band's record label, Flightless, and ATO Records. Stu Mackenzie
Stuart Douglas Mackenzie is an Australian musician best known as the frontman of psychedelic rock band King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. Early life Mackenzie grew up and went to school in Geelong. His father played guitar to him and his brother growing up, which influenced young Mackenzie. Due to his father being a left-handed guitar player, Mackenzie originally learned to play guitar upside down. His early influences were AC/DC, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Paul Kelly. He began playing guitar and other instruments at age 15. He was later influenced by heavy metal artists like Rammstein, Kreator, Sodom, Slayer and Metallica, but found the style too difficult to play on guitar, so played garage rock and rock and roll. Mackenzie was part of the local music scene in Geelong and performed at various open mics. Nicholas Roderick "Cook" Craig is an Australian musician, singer and songwriter and is a part of groups King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard and the Murlocs. Craig releases music under the name Pipe-Eye. Pipe-Eye's debut EP ''Cosmic Blip'' was released in 2015 and debut studio album ''Laugh About Life'' in April 2017, ''Inside/Outside'' in 2019 and ''Dream Themes'' in November 2021. 2019–20 Australian Bushfire Season
The 201920 Australian bushfire season (Black Summer), was a period of bushfires in many parts of Australia, which, due to its unusual intensity, size, duration, and uncontrollable dimension, is considered a megafire. The Australian National University reported that the area burned in 2019/2020 was "well below average" due to low fuel levels and fire activity in unpopulated parts of Northern Australia, but that "Despite low fire activity overall, vast forest fires occurred in southeast Australia from southeast Queensland to Kangaroo Island." ''Gumboot Soup'' is the thirteenth studio album by Australian psychedelic rock band King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. It was released on 31 December 2017 by Flightless. The album is the final of five albums released by the band in 2017. The artwork was designed by longtime band collaborator Jason Galea. Background Stu Mackenzie stated in an interview that the album is composed of songs that didn't fit in any of the other four albums released by the band in 2017, and that the album is more song oriented than the other releases that year. ''Fishing for Fishies'' is the fourteenth studio album by Australian psychedelic rock band King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. It was released on 26 April 2019 by Flightless and ATO Records. The announcement of the album was accompanied by the release of the title track and its video. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2019, the album was nominated for ARIA Award for Best Blues and Roots Album, losing to The Teskey Brothers for ''Run Home Slow''. Background and recording ''Fishing for Fishies'' was first teased by the band on 21 January 2019—over a year after the release of the last of their five 2017 albums, ''Gumboot Soup''—when they posted a picture of themselves in the studio on social media with the caption "new music coming soon".
