''Live at the Middle East'' is a 2002 live album by underground hip-hop artist Mr. Lif. The album, released on Ozone Records, was recorded live at The Middle East Restaurant and Nightclub in Cambridge, MA. The performance includes appearances by fellow Perceptionists lyricist Akrobatik Jared Bridgeman, better known by his stage name Akrobatik, is an American rapper from the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. ''Home of the Brave'' is a studio album by American singer Jody Miller. It was released in October 1965 via Capitol Records and contained 11 tracks. The material mixed pop with country songs. Its title track reached the pop charts in several countries including Australia, Canada and the United States. The disc was Miller's third studio album in her career and received a positive review from ''Billboard'' following its release. Background Jody Miller signed to Capitol Records as a folk recording artist in 1963. However, in 1965, she commercially broke through with a pop and country single called "Queen of the House". Its success was followed by a protest song called " Home of the Brave". The tune described a teenage boy who was criticized in his hometown for his choice of clothing and hairstyle. The Middle East is an entertainment complex consisting of five adjacent dining and live music venues in the Central Square neighborhood of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Its three dedicated concert spaces, Upstairs, Downstairs, and Sonia, sit alongside ZuZu and The Corner, two restaurants that also host live music. The Perceptionists
The Perceptionists is an American hip hop group from Boston, Massachusetts. The group initially had three members: Mr. Lif, Akrobatik, and DJ Fakts One. The group was signed to the Definitive Jux label. In 2005, the trio released a studio album, ''Black Dialogue''. Shortly after the release of ''Black Dialogue'', DJ Fakts One left the group. In 2017, they released their second studio album '' Resolution'', with Mr. Lif and Akrobatik as the only two members of the group performing on the album. Jared Bridgeman, better known by his stage name Akrobatik, is an American rapper from the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. He is also a part of the hip hop collective named The Perceptionists with Mr. Lif and DJ Fakts One, which released ''Black Dialogue'' in 2005. Career In 1998, Akrobatik released his first single, "Ruff Enough", on Boston's Detonator Records label. It was followed by "Internet MCs" and "Say Yes Say Word".
