Live And Kicking (TV Series)
''Live and Kicking'' was a television show that was broadcast in Australia on the Seven Network in 1998 and 1999. An Australian rules football show focusing on the Australian Football League (AFL), the show featured Jason Dunstall, Doug Hawkins and Craig Hutchison among others. The show was aimed as a variety show, with footballers in the AFL invited onto the show to perform songs. Players included Daniel Harford (performing Five's "When the Lights Go Out"); Nicky Winmar (performing "That's All Right (Mama)" by Elvis Presley); Dale Lewis; Nick Daffy; and Adam Heuskes (performing " Holiday" by Madonna). Musical guests on the show also included Taxiride and Human Nature. Jason Dunstall announced his retirement live on air after months of speculation. The Seven Network (commonly known as Channel Seven or simply Seven) is a major Australian commercial free-to-air Television broadcasting in Australia, television network. Nick Daffy
Nick Daffy (born 11 May 1973) is a former Australian rules football player who played in the AFL between 1992 and 2001 for the Richmond Football Club and then played one game in 2002 for the Sydney Swans Football Club. Early life Daffy grew up in Mount Gambier and started playing football for North Gambier Football Club in the under 10s. He showed talent from an early age and represented South Australia in the Under/13 Schoolboys football side, plus won the North Gambier Best & Fairest in U/14 and U/16. He would debut for the North Gambier senior team in 1990 as a 16-year-old and would win the Western Border Football League Rookie of The Year Award. In 1990, he also played 9 games for Glenelg thirds and represented South Australia in the Teal Cup. He would also go back to North Gambier and was a part of the 1990 U/18 premiership. The 1999 AFL season was the 103rd season of the Australian Football League (AFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Australia, which was known as the Victorian Football League until 1989. ''The Footy Show'' was an Australian sports and variety entertainment television program which aired on the Nine Network. Human Nature are an Australian pop vocal group, which formed in 1989, as a quartet featuring Toby Allen, Phil Burton and brothers, Andrew and Mike Tierney. Taxiride
Taxiride are an Australian rock band. Formed in 1997, the band consists of Dan Hall, Jason Singh, Tim Watson and Tim Wild. Prior to formation, the four founding members of Taxiride—Hall, Singh, Watson and Wild—had been playing in cover bands around Melbourne. The quartet recorded an EP, which a taxi-driving friend of theirs helped promote. They took their name from the experience had by passengers first hearing their music on a taxi ride. After their music was heard by an executive from record label Warner, the band signed a contract and released their debut album, '' Imaginate'', in 1999.
