Live Music Act 2012
The Live Music Act 2012 (c 2) is an Act of Parliament, Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. The Act reduces regulation surrounding live music in small venues, allowing venues with a capacity below 200 people to host live music between 8am and 11pm without the need to apply for a Licensing Act 2003, licence. The audience limit has now been extended to 500 people. Donald Michael Ellison Foster, Baron Foster of Bath (born 31 March 1947), is a British politician and life peer who served as Chief Whip, Government Deputy Chief Whip and Comptroller of the Household from 2013 to 2015. Licensing Act 2003
The Licensing Act 2003 (c 17) is an act passed by the Parliament of the United Kingdom. The act establishes a single integrated scheme for licensing premises in England and Wales used to sell or supply of alcohol, provide regulated entertainment, or provide late night refreshment. It allows some or all of these licensable activities to be contained in a single licence—the premises licence—that replaced other schemes. Responsibility for issuing licences is given to local authorities, specifically London boroughs, metropolitan boroughs, unitary authorities, and district councils, who took over this power from the Justices of the Peace under a system of Licensing Committees.
