Live Bootleg '82
''Live Bootleg '82'' is the title of a live album by rock band Daniel Amos, released on Stunt Records in 1990. Recorded in St. Louis, Missouri by Bruce A. Brown in April, 1982, this album gave fans a glimpse into a typical D.A. concert in the early 1980s. Having gone in a harder rock/new-wave direction, they abandoned the country-rock songs of their first two albums. This set (as seen on the "Uncut" edition) culled three songs from ''Horrendous Disc'' and nine from '' ¡Alarma!'', both released the previous year, along with three songs from ''Doppelgänger'' which would not be released for a year and three songs never released on an album. The album also includes their well-known "Surf Suite", which they had performed in differing fashions for several years. Daniel Amos
Daniel Amos (aka D. A., Dä) is an American Christian rock band formed in 1974 by Terry Scott Taylor on guitars and vocals, Marty Dieckmeyer on bass guitar, Steve Baxter (musician), Steve Baxter on guitars and Jerry Chamberlain on lead guitars. The band currently consists of Taylor, guitarist Greg Flesch and drummer Ed McTaggart. Over the band's career, they have included keyboardist Mark Cook, drummer Alex MacDougall, bassist Tim Chandler and keyboardist Rob Watson (musician), Rob Watson with sounds that experimented with country rock, rock music, rock, New wave music, new wave and alternative rock. Jerry Chamberlain
Jerry Chamberlain is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer, best known for his work with the rock bands Daniel Amos and the Swirling Eddies (credited as "Spot"). In late 1974, Chamberlain was asked to join Jubal's Last Band, a band that consisted of Terry Scott Taylor, Steve Baxter and bassist Kenny Paxton. Marty Dieckmeyer was soon brought in as a replacement for the departing Paxton. Sometime in the middle of 1975, Jubal's Last Band or Jubal (as a shortened form of the name was briefly used) auditioned for Maranatha! Music and Calvary Chapel (without Baxter, who couldn't get off work) in hopes of signing a recording and performance contract. At a Maranatha Music meeting, another band led by Darrell Mansfield, was also using the name, Jubal. The two bands decided to change their names to avoid confusion. Ronald Lee Wilson (June 26, 1944 – May 12, 1989) was an American musician and recording artist, best known as an original member and drummer of The Surfaris, an early surf music group of the 1960s. Wilson's energetic drum solo on " Wipe Out" (a #2 US/#5 UK hit) made it one of the best-known instrumental songs of the period. The Surfaris are an American surf rock band formed in Glendora, California, United States, in 1962. They are best known for two songs that hit the charts in the Los Angeles area, and nationally by May 1963: "Surfer Joe" and " Wipe Out", which were the A-side and B-side of the same 45 rpm single. The Surfaris were inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2019 for their hit instrumental song, "Wipe Out". Bob Berryhill
Bob Berryhill (born December 15, 1947) was a member of The Surfaris and co-writer and recording artist of " Wipe Out" and other Surfaris' hits. In 1960, when Berryhill was 13, he took a trip to the Hawaiian Islands and learned to surf and play ukulele. On returning to California, he began working seriously on guitar and two years later, "Wipe Out" was born. Terry Scott Taylor
Terry Scott Taylor (born May 24, 1950) is an American songwriter, record producer, writer and founding member of the bands Daniel Amos and The Swirling Eddies (credited as Camarillo Eddy). Taylor is also a member of the roots and alternative music group, Lost Dogs. He is currently based in San Jose, California, U.S. Taylor is highly regarded for his songwriting skills. These often include allusions to and reworkings of material ranging from Elizabethan poets to modern authors. Foremost among Taylor's influences is William Blake.
