"Two Out of Three Ain't Bad" is a power ballad performed by the American musician Meat Loaf. It is a track off his 1977 album ''Bat Out of Hell'', written by Jim Steinman. It spent 23 weeks on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, peaking at #11, and earned a million-selling Gold single from the RIAA, eventually being certified platinum. Paul Mirkovich (born March 20, 1963) is an American musician from Los Angeles. He has been the band leader, keyboardist and duet singing partner for Cher for the last 16 years. He has also been the band director for Janet Jackson and Anastacia and a member of the multi-platinum bands Whitesnake and Nelson. Mirkovich played a role in Brett Garsed and T. J. Pearl Aday (born 1975) is an American singer. She is the adopted daughter of vocalist Michael Lee Aday, better known as Meat Loaf, and was a member of his touring band Neverland Express for nine years starting in the mid-1990s. Mark Alexander (born ) is an American keyboardist, vocalist, and producer–songwriter. Biography Alexander was born in New Canaan, Connecticut. He started his professional career playing keyboards for R&B singer Meli'sa Morgan (best known for her hit remake of Prince's "Do Me Baby"), before becoming the keyboard player for Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul. Kasim Sulton (born December 8, 1955) is an American bass guitarist, keyboardist and vocalist. Best known for his work with Utopia, Sulton sang lead on 1980's "Set Me Free," Utopia's only top 40 hit in the United States. As a solo artist, Sulton hit the Canadian top 40 in 1982 with "Don't Break My Heart". Sulton has been a frequent collaborator, bassist and singer on many of Todd Rundgren's projects and solo tours. Patrick Thrall is an American rock guitarist. Thrall began his recording career in 1972. He played guitar, vocals, and percussion with the group Cookin' Mama, which had his brother, Preston Thrall, on percussion. They released the album ''New Day'' in 1972. "Bat Out of Hell" is a song written by Jim Steinman, for the 1977 album ''Bat Out of Hell'' and performed by Meat Loaf. It was released as a single in 1979, and again in 1993. Inspiration Like most songs on the album, the song was written about Peter Pan and the Neverland story. Steinman had intended for the song to appear on "a rock 'n roll sci-fi version of Peter Pan". Steinman finally completed the musical (which he started writing in 1968) in 2017. The song was also inspired by teenage tragedy songs such as " Leader of the Pack", "Terry" and " Tell Laura I Love Her", the latter being the first single Jim Steinman had ever bought.
