Livartzi
Livartzi ( el, Λιβάρτζι) is a mountain village and a community in the municipal unit of Aroania, Achaea, Greece. In 2011, it had a population of 164 for the village and 211 for the municipal district, which includes the villages Livadi and Livartzino. Livartzi is situated at 850 m above sea level, in the southeastern foothills of Mount Erymanthos. It is 4 km southwest of Lechouri, 6 km north of Psofida and 21 km southwest of Kalavryta. It is not known when Livartzi was founded, but it existed before the Ottoman rule. In the 19th century, refugees from Mystras settled the area and the population rose to around 3,000 people. Aroania
Aroania ( el, Αροάνια) is a village and a former municipality in Achaea, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Kalavryta, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 173.804 km2. The population is 1,619 (2011 census). The seat of administration was in the town Psofida. The municipality is named after the village and the mountain. Mount Erymanthos ( el, Ερύμανθος, Latin: ''Erymanthus'') overall is an irregular massif of peaks connected by ridges embedded in the mountains located in the north of the Peloponnese, Greece. Erymanthos is on the west side. Its highest peak, Olenos or Olonos (Ωλενός or Ωλονός), Olenos original and preferred, elevation , is often called Mount Erymanthus, and conversely, Mount Olenos can be used for the entire range, although the customary usage is Erymanthos for the range and Olenos for the peak. Lechouri
Lechouri ( el, Λεχούρι) is a mountain village and a community in the municipal unit of Aroania, Achaea, Greece. In 2011, it had a population of 209 for the village and 288 for the community, which includes the villages Kerasia and Selli. The village is situated at about 1,000 m above sea level, near the mountain Kallifoni, which is part of the Erymanthos range. It is 4 km northeast of Livartzi, 6 km south of Ano Vlasia, 4 km northwest of Kamenianoi and 18 km southwest of Kalavryta. Population History Historian G. Poretsano has two theories about the origin of the name Lechouri. The first is the Homeric word "ουρέα" which means "mountain peaks" and the second is the Cretan word "λέσκες" which means "ridges".G. Psofida
Psofida (Greek: Ψωφίδα) is a village and a community in the municipal unit of Aroania in the southern part of Achaea, Greece. The community consists of the villages Psofida, Ano Psofida, Tripotama, Ano Tripotama, Kato Tripotama and Vasiliki. Psofida was named after the ancient Arcadian town Psophis, that was located near the present village Tripotama. It is situated near the confluence of the rivers Erymanthos, Aroanios and Seiraios, and near the tripoint of Achaea, Arcadia and Elis. Andreas Papagiannakopoulos
Andreas Papagiannakopoulos ( el, Ανδρέας Παπαγιαννακόπουλος, 1845-1911) was a judge and a politician of Kalavryta and Achaea. He was born in Leivartzi and moved to Patras at a young age. He studied law and was engaged in journalism, publishing the newspapers '' Pelopas'' and '' Toxotis'' in 1876. He became a municipal police officer in 1883 but was dismissed a year later. He was elected as a Member of the Hellenic Parliament for Kalavryta in 1885 and continuously from 1887 until 1910 for the Achaea Prefecture. He tried to be elected as mayor of Patras but without success. He died on January 12, 1911, in Athens at the Evangelismos Hospital. His funeral oration was read by Loukas Roufos. Kalavryta ( el, Καλάβρυτα) is a town and a municipality in the mountainous east-central part of the regional unit of Achaea, Greece. The town is located on the right bank of the river Vouraikos, south of Aigio, southeast of Patras and northwest of Tripoli. Mystras
Mystras or Mistras ( el, Μυστρᾶς/Μιστρᾶς), also known in the ''Chronicle of the Morea'' as Myzithras (Μυζηθρᾶς), is a fortified town and a former municipality in Laconia, Peloponnese, Greece.
