Liu'ao, Zhangpu County
The Liu'ao Peninsula () is located in the southern part of China's Fujian Province's coast. Administratively, it is incorporated as Liu'ao Town () within Fujian's Zhangpu County. Geography Liu'ao Peninsula is about 12 km long, stretched along the north-south axis. In the north, it is connected to the mainland by a fairly narrow isthmus. Its western coast is separated from Fujian's mainland by the shallow Jiuzhen Bay; its eastern coast and southern coasts face the open sea (Taiwan Strait). Most of the peninsula is flat and sandy. However, it also incorporates several rocky hills. It is the outlines of these hills which may have given the peninsula its name, which means "six '' ao''". Zhangpu County () is a county of Zhangzhou prefecture-level city in far southern Fujian province, People's Republic of China. The county seat is located in the town of Sui'an (). Zhangpu is bordered by the Longhai City in the north, the counties of Pinghe and Yunxiao in the west, and the Taiwan Strait in the south and east. The Taiwan Strait is a -wide strait separating the island of Taiwan and continental Asia. The strait is part of the South China Sea and connects to the East China Sea to the north. The narrowest part is wide. The Taiwan Strait is itself a subject of international dispute over its political status. As the People's Republic of China claims to enjoy "sovereignty, sovereign rights and jurisdiction over the Taiwan Strait" and regards the waterway as " internal territorial waters" instead of being international waters, this means that the Chinese government denies any foreign vessel having the freedom of navigation in the strait. Hongwu Emperor
The Hongwu Emperor (21 October 1328 – 24 June 1398), personal name Zhu Yuanzhang (), courtesy name Guorui (), was the founding emperor of the Ming dynasty of China, reigning from 1368 to 1398. As famine, plagues and peasant revolts increased across China proper in the 14th century, Zhu Yuanzhang rose to command the Red Turban forces that conquered China proper, ending the Mongol-led Yuan dynasty and forcing the remnant Yuan court (known as Northern Yuan in historiography) to retreat to the Mongolian Plateau. Chongwu Town () is a township-level division of Hui'an County, Quanzhou Prefecture-level city, Fujian Province, China. Chongwu Town is in the southeastern part of Hui'an County, on a peninsula jutting into Taiwan Strait. The town's historical center, the Old Chongwu Fortress (, ''Chongwu Gu Cheng'') is a walled city dating to the late 14th century (Hongwu Emperor's reign; the conventional date is 1384). The traditional Hui'an County vernacular architecture, making heavy use of the local granite, is largely preserved within the walled city. A large sculpture park is located on the narrow strip south of the fortress, between the city wall and the beach. Pucheng County () is a county under the jurisdiction of the municipality of Nanping, in northern Fujian province, People's Republic of China, bordering Jiangxi to the northwest and Zhejiang to the east; it is the northernmost county-level division of Fujian.
