Little Miss Broadway (1947 Film)
''Little Miss Broadway'' is a 1947 American musical film starring Jean Porter and directed by Arthur Dreifuss. Dreifuss also co wrote the screenplay. Plot A girl visits her relatives who she thinks are wealthy, not knowing they are penniless. Judy Gibson and her fiancé, Dick Nichols, are taken in by a number of rogues at a New York mansion they pretend to own, which actually belongs to an imprisoned gangster. They attempt a scam with $200,000 in loot found hidden at the crook's home, but Judy ultimately gets the better of all. Plot Vaudeville is in Joanne Leeds's blood, but when she applies for admission at prestigious Upton College, she is accepted because it is mistakenly believed she hails from a prominent family. Sam Katzman
Sam Katzman (July 7, 1901 – August 4, 1973) was an American film producer and director. Katzman produced low-budget genre films, including serials, which had disproportionately high returns for the studios and his financial backers. Early career Sam was born to a Jewish family; his father Abe Katzman was a violinist. He and Sam's mother Rebecca (née Sugarman) were from Kishinev, Bessarabia Governorate, Russian Empire (now Chisinău, Moldova). Katzman went to work as a stage laborer at the age of 13 in the fledgling East Coast film industry and moved from prop boy to assistant director at Fox Films. He would learn all aspects of filmmaking and was a Hollywood producer for more than 40 years.
