Little Falls is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Gorham in Cumberland County, Maine, United States. The population of the CDP was 708 at the 2010 census. Prior to 2010, Little Falls was part of the Little Falls-South Windham census-designated place. It is part of the Portland– South Portland–Biddeford, Maine Metropolitan Statistical Area. Geography Little Falls is located at , along the Presumpscot River. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of , of which is land and , or 7.87%, is water. Vader is a city in Lewis County, Washington, Lewis County, Washington (state), Washington, United States. The population was 629 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. History Vader was originally named Little Falls and incorporated on January 12, 1906. The name was changed to Sopenah by the Northern Pacific Railway because there was already a Little Falls on their rail lines, Little Falls, Minnesota. The townspeople were unsatisfied with the new name and petitioned the Washington State Legislature to change it to Toronto. A dispute then arose which was resolved by a compromise agreement to name the town after a German resident (and Civil War veteran) named Martin Vader. Ramara is a lower-tier township municipality in Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada. Ramara was formed in 1994 through the amalgamation of the townships of Rama and Mara. Little Falls (Hamilton, Ontario)
The city of Hamilton in Ontario, Canada is home to more than 100 waterfalls and cascades, most of which are on or near the Bruce Trail as it winds through the Niagara Escarpment. Ontario's internationally recognized Niagara Escarpment provides perfect geological conditions for waterfalls to occur, from Tobermory to Niagara Falls. With its crest, Webster's Falls is the largest waterfall within the city. Tew's Falls is a ribbon waterfall, and is the tallest waterfall found in Hamilton. Little Falls Meetinghouse
The Little Falls Meetinghouse is a historic Friends meeting house located at Fallston, Harford County, Maryland, United States. It was constructed in 1843 and is a sprawling one-story fieldstone structure with shallow-pitched gable roof and a shed-roofed porch. The building replaced an earlier meetinghouse built in 1773. Also on the property is a cemetery and a one-story frame mid-19th century school building, with additions made post-1898 and in 1975. It features the characteristic two entrance doors and a sliding partition dividing the interior into the men's and women's sides. The Friends currently meet on the former men's side of the meetinghouse, and the women's side is only used for large groups and special occasions. The Little Falls Meetinghouse was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Little Falls Dam
Little Falls Dam is a hydroelectric dam across the Mississippi River in the city of Little Falls, Minnesota, United States. History The Little Falls Mill and Land Company was formed in 1849 to build a dam and a sawmill to supply lumber for buildings at Fort Ripley; but when settlers showed up in the area there were other markets for the lumber. James Green, along with a group of co-partners, was the owner of the first dam, a wing dam built on the east channel of the falls. Green died in 1850 and the dam, mill and land were sold. William Sturgis bought the dam and, with Calvin Tuttle and James Fergus, formed the Little Falls Company, later called Little Falls Manufacturing Company. The company built a larger dam, sawmill, cabinet shop and bridge and owned about of land. The new dam replaced the original wing dam, but was built on sand and portions of it were washed out by flood waters in the summer of 1859.
